OUR PARTNERS
The Hispanic Theological Initiative Consortium
The Hispanic Theological Initiative Consortium (HTIC) represents HTI’s commitment to partnership.
Established in 2007, HTIC is a collaboration of schools supporting and participating in the work of HTI to
nurture Latina/o scholars in higher education. HTIC schools help fund the mentoring and networking costs
for their HTIC scholars. Working collaboratively, pooling resources, and building communities are essential
keys to increasing Latina/o presence in theological higher education. These member schools work together
to create and nurture a more representative theological and religious faculty at our nation’s institutions of
higher learning. Ph.D.-granting institutions interested in becoming members of the consortium should
contact HTI via email at hti@ptsem.edu.
“ At the Graduate Theological
Union, Latina/o students as a group
have the highest graduation rates
of any racial/ethnic group in our
doctoral program. We give much
of the credit to HTI’s good work
in providing networking support,
mentoring, and professional
development for those students.
With accrediting agencies now
stressing institutional accountability
for improving graduation
rates among diverse populations,
HTIC is an invaluable resource for
our graduate programs in theology
and religious studies.”
