The Young Professionals Committee
The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) of
Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC (BBBS of NYC)
was founded in 1992 by enthusiastic young
adult professionals. The YPC is a diverse group
of dedicated working men and women throughout
the city. Ranging in age from 24-40, the
committee attracts young executives from a
variety of industries who volunteer their time,
talents and energy to support BBBS of NYC’s
programs through fundraisers and volunteer
initiatives.
The YPC promotes their events to over 6,000 of
their friends and colleagues through blast
emails, print invitations and their quarterly
newsletter, Momentum. In addition, the YPC
organizes and participates in initiatives to
recruit much-needed new mentors.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC
Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City is the
founding agency of the Big Brothers Big
Sisters organization as well as the founder of
the nation's mentoring movement. For over 100
years our mission has been to provide mentors
to the many disadvantaged children who need a
caring adult role model in their lives – special
friends who can help expand their horizons,
realize their potential and enrich their futures.
Sub-Committees
Members volunteer at BBBS of NYC activities
with the children in our mentoring programs.
They can also choose to participate in a variety
of sub-committees, focusing on specific aspects
of YPC events including:

Sponsorship
Volunteer Mentor Recruitment
Silent Auction
Hospitality
Meetings
Meetings are typically held on the first Tuesday
of every month at 6:45pm. All meetings take
place at BBBS of NYC’s headquarters located at
223 East 30th Street (between 2nd and 3rd
Avenues). New members are always welcome.
