Neo didn’t want to admit it, but he m<strong>is</strong>sed Ted. And Marty, and Doc, and Frank, and even Verne and Keith.<br />

He m<strong>is</strong>sed lounging around a hotel room, m<strong>is</strong>sed Liz falling on h<strong>is</strong> head, m<strong>is</strong>sed impersonating an actor and<br />

getting fourteen ice creams in return, m<strong>is</strong>sed the sound of the sonic booms that accompanied each trip in<br />

the time train, m<strong>is</strong>sed the way that for a moment in h<strong>is</strong> life, there had been something different from what he<br />

was used to, something to break apart the bleakness of h<strong>is</strong> ex<strong>is</strong>tence.<br />

But it was all over now.<br />

It was time for him to face the future. A future written out by two brothers in another universe. A future in<br />

which, according to Verne, Neo was to die.<br />

But the future was always changing. The future was what you made of it.<br />

There was always hope.<br />
