• The “Guidelines for the Design, Operation,
Assessment and Accreditation of Food Import and
Export Inspection and Certification Systems” state:
“The recognition of equivalence of inspection and
certification should be facilitated where it can be
objectively demonstrated that there is an
appropriate system for inspection and certification
of food by the exporting country in accordance with
these guidelines.”
