Community Centre Activity Programs
• Pittwater Council Community Centres are multipurpose facilities
and are available for hire on a casual and permanent basis at
affordable rates.
• All venues have access to tables, chairs and kitchen facilities
and cater for a diverse range of functions. Certain venues create
just the right atmosphere for special occasions, whether it is a
wedding reception, engagement party, christening, a youth dance
or a birthday party. Community Centres are not available for
eighteenth birthday parties.
• Prices vary from centre to centre, depending on the room and
the type of activity. Discounted rates are given to senior citizens
groups, disability groups, theatre, art groups and kindy.

• Pittwater’s Community Centre network provides a wonderful
opportunity for residents and visitors to participate in a wide
range of social, recreational and cultural activities.
• Regular activities include personal development, workshops,
health, relaxation & fitness, art & craft groups, exhibitions, support
group meetings, community groups, dance, martial arts, music &
drama.
• Council provides brochures listing centre activities for regular
hirers of the Centres. We also provide a Holiday Recreation
Brochure each School Holidays to outline events for your
children.
• These brochures can be downloaded from Council’s website
www.pittwater.nsw.gov.au/recreation, collected from Council’s
Customer Service Centres in Mona Vale and Avalon, the
participating Community Centres or call Pat on 9970 1156 for a
brochure to be sent by post.

This Centre is located in the Avalon Shopping Centre overlooking Dunbar Park.
It has a sports hall, meeting room and four activity rooms available for hire,
one including craft sinks for art/craft classes.
The Centre also houses Avalon Community Library, Avalon Early Childhood
Centre and Pittwater Council Customer Service. The Centre is fully accessible.
Currently under construction, Newport Community Centre is located on Palm
Road Newport, overlooking Spurway Park. The Centre is expected to be
operating in early 2009.
The Centre will house Pittwater Council’s Family Day Care offices and will
be fully accessible. There will be a main hall, activity room/s, two tennis
courts and a fully enclosed playground, The Centre is suitable for workshops,
classes, functions, meetings and children’s parties.
The Nelson Heather Centre is located on public transport routes and is a
short distance from the Warriewood Square Shopping Centre. The Centre
also adjoins Northern Beaches Interchange and incorporates the Peninsula
Bridge Club under the same roof.
The Centre has two fully accessible halls and a meeting room that are all airconditioned
for your comfort with adjoining courtyards and seating.
The North Narrabeen Community & Tennis Centre has three halls and two
synthetic grass courts. The Centre is perfect for children’s birthday parties
with a fully enclosed children’s play area with shade, swings, cubby house
and slippery dip.
The Centre is suitable for functions, classes, meetings, workshops, small
theatrical performances and exhibitions.

Mona Vale Memorial Hall is situated in the Village Park, in the heart of the
shopping centre and is adjacent to the Mona Vale Library. Mona Vale Memorial
Hall consists of a large main hall and a meeting room.
Parking is available in the adjacent carpark with an accessible car space, and
the Centre is fully accessible.

Located just beyond the shopping centre and adjacent to Allington Reserve.
The Centre is suitable for classes, small theatrical productions and meetings.
The rooms and fully enclosed playground make it perfect for children’s parties.
Parking is available in the adjacent carpark for approximately 15 cars.

Only 200 metres from Warriewood Square Shopping Centre, the Centre consists
of a fully accessible main hall, accessible parking and street parking.
The Hall is suitable for functions, classes, meetings and parties.
Tennis Courts & Clubhouse
Two synthetic tennis courts are attached to a refurbished tiled Clubroom with
access to kitchenette/tea making facilities, full amenities including showers
and toilets, and an enclosed play area for the children.
