Thiagarajar College of Engineering is one
among the several educational, industrial and
philanthropic institutions founded by
Late. Thiru Karumuttu Thiagarajan Chettiar. This 50
year old Institution is a Government Aided
Autonomous Institution, accredited and approved by
the All India Council for Technical Education and
affiliated to Anna University. The college offers 9
Undergraduate, 11 Post graduate and research
programs leading to PhD degree in Engineering and
Science disciplines. A Centre for Relevance and
Excellence (CORE) in WIRELESS
TECHNOLOGIES has been established through
TIFAC (Technology, Information, Forecasting and
Assessment Council) under Mission REACH
Programme of Department of Science and
Technology, Govt of India.TIFAC CORE
amalgamates the three key pillars for economic
growth- the industry, the Government and the
Educational Institutions.
Department:
The FIST supported Electronics and
Communication Engineering Department has
laboratory facilities in the areas of RF, Digital Signal
Processing, VLSI, Embedded systems, Medical
electronics, Optical Communication, Networking,
Remote Sensing & Digital Image Processing, which
have been established from Central and State
Government and Management funds. The
Department has the privilege of having done/ doing
R&D projects from DRDL, DEAL, RCI, ISRO, and
DSTand AICTE. The Department has Collaboration
with Honeywell, Motorola, CISCO, TVS
Interconnects, and National Instruments. BE ECE
course has been awarded 5 years accreditation during
2006 by NBA.
Course:
Empire is a versatile 3D Electromagnetic Field
simulator developed by IMST, Germany,
established by Prof. Ingo Wolff, Life fellow of IEEE
Microwave Theory & Techniques. This course would
provide the necessary hands on experience for using
EMPIRE 3D, Electromagnetic Field Simulator for
specific subsystems like Radiators, Waveguides and
MICs.
Course Content:
Hands-on Session using Empire 3D simulator for
• RF Transmission lines
• RF passive devices
• Wireless Antennas
• Waveguide Antennas
• Multilayer via model
