General All Villeroy & Boch baths <strong>and</strong> shower trays are manufactured from <strong>to</strong>p quality bathroom acrylic reinforced with glass fibre, or from the unique Quaryl®. Quaryl® is a synthetic material developed by Villeroy & Boch which is cast in moulds, therefore very exact designs can be produced. The synthetic material is col<strong>our</strong>ed all the way through <strong>and</strong> retains its col<strong>our</strong> <strong>and</strong> shine for many years. Design Acrylic <strong>and</strong>, in particular, Quaryl® can be formed in<strong>to</strong> all sorts of shapes very easily so that innumerable bathroom designs are possible. There is a suitable bath for all bathrooms: rectangular, hexagonal, oval or corner bath. From modern <strong>and</strong> minimalistic <strong>to</strong> royal <strong>and</strong> comfortable with h<strong>and</strong>grips <strong>and</strong> headrests. You will always feel at home in a Villeroy & Boch bath. Temperature take-up The material, be it acrylic or Quaryl®, takes on the temperature of the bath water almost immediately. This has the big advantage that you will not receive a cold shock when you lie down in the bath or step in<strong>to</strong> the shower. Heat insulation Acrylic <strong>and</strong> Quaryl® conduct heat slowly. Therefore the heat from the bath water is retained longer. This insulating capacity has the added advantage that the bath does not have <strong>to</strong> be continually <strong>to</strong>pped up with hot water. Maintenance The surfaces of acrylic <strong>and</strong> Quaryl® have no pores so they repel bacteria. Dirt, imescale <strong>and</strong> soap residue are virtually unable <strong>to</strong> gain a hold on the material, so that maintenance is restricted <strong>to</strong> wiping down with a wet cloth or sponge <strong>and</strong> the use of a non-sc<strong>our</strong>ing cleanser. We advise you <strong>to</strong> rinse out the whirlpool systems once a month with washing soda, particularly if bath oils are used. Our shower cabins are best be cleaned using liquid soap. Material Acrylic <strong>and</strong> Quaryl® are very durable materials which, when correctly maintained, keep their col<strong>our</strong> <strong>and</strong> shine for many years. Quaryl® is partly composed of natural materials. One of the characteristics of Quaryl® is that, in exceptional cases, small irregularities may appear in its structure. Scratches in acrylic materials are seldom. Naturally light damage or burn marks can occur, but these can be very easily removed from acrylic by using fine s<strong>and</strong>paper (no. 1000 <strong>to</strong> 1200) <strong>and</strong> a small piece of fine steel wool. After this shining col<strong>our</strong> surfaces must be further treated with a car polish compound <strong>to</strong> reproduce the original lustre. It is also possible <strong>to</strong> repair damage <strong>to</strong> Quaryl®.We advise you <strong>to</strong> contact <strong>our</strong> professional service department if any y<strong>our</strong> Quaryl® product become damaged. Guarantee After purchasing a Villeroy & Boch bath <strong>and</strong>/or shower tray you will receive a 10 year manufacturer’s guarantee on production faults, col<strong>our</strong> changes <strong>and</strong>/ or crack forming as a result of material ageing or deformation caused by hot water. 3 years guarantee is given on all parts of the whirlpool for private use <strong>and</strong> 1 year for professional use. In all cases there is a 2 year guarantee on the remote control unit. Two years guarantee is given on shower enclosures.
