measure with MEYTON

Fast precision
As a committed sports shooter you require a maximum of concentration,
arduous conditioning and perfect body control. The smallest error can be the
difference between victory and defeat.
We meet your demands for a high degree of robustness, long-term stability
and fast accuracy.
Our biggest advantages
for the shooting sport
LONGEVITY
ROBUSTNESS
What does this mean for you?
The measuring frame MF4 has proven itself for about 10
years now and has permanently been refined during this
time. According to our knowledge, all measuring frames
delivered are operating to this day. By means of a cost
• increased resistance to corrosion and acids
• high toughness
(very important in case of accidental cross fire shots)
saving upgrade of the software, an “old” system can • no susceptibility to UV radiation
operate as precisely as a recently delivered system, since (no embrittlement or yellowing)
the age-related wear and tear of the electronic
components are not noticeable, even over a period of ten
years. (We assume that a well maintained measuring
frame can continue operating for another ten years.)
• high compatibility
• longevity
Our industrial PCs are adapted for harsh conditions in all
weathers. The requirements for our equipment concerning
the insensitivity to heat, cold and dust are considerably
higher than to standard PCs which should not even be
exposed to direct atmospheric influences. From the outset
our measuring frames are made out of stainless steel.
After more than 20 years, our first industrially
manufactured measuring frame is still being
utilized by our customer on an outdoor range
and works reliably like on the first day!
ACCURACY
You can find out on the following page what we understand
by measuring accuracy and compare it to the proposals of
our competitors.
You will see - we keep our promise!
How it all began
Anno Anno 1988

What do we do better?
MEYTON Elektronik GmbH provides indoor and outdoor curtain in the frame. When a bullet flies through this light
shooting ranges with the state-of-art optical electronic curtain, several light barriers on the horizontal x-axis and
measuring equipment for more than 20 years. By the vertical y-axis of the measuring frame are interrupted
development of new technologies, the application of the either partially or completely.
latest procedures and the experience we have gained over
the years, we have been continuously evolving and have
brought our measurement system to perfection. Due to our
unique measurement procedure, we are one of the leading
companies in electronic bullet measurement.
Our measurement
procedure
The optical MEYTON measurement system measures the
bullet flying through the frame with the aid of infrared light
barriers. A single infrared light barrier consists of the
following components:
• An infrared emitter emits the infrared light in a bundled
light beam.
• A receiver opposite the infrared emitter measures
the intensity of the incoming infrared light beam.
The MEYTON measuring frame contains 192 to 512
(depending on the size) independent light beams arranged
in a grid on the inner surfaces of the frame. The infrared
emitters of the light barriers generate a continuous light
Lighting case with state-of-art
LED technology
(infinitely variable)

We are at the international
forefront:
Due to its unique construction the MEYTON
measurement procedure is well ahead of its
time. Then as now, we offer a system which
can take on every measuring system in the
world concerning robustness, longevity and
accuracy.
We are convinced of our product and will do
our best, also in future, so that you will find us,
where you expect us.
(illustration not
Our accuracy of measurement
The infrared receivers opposite to the infrared emitters The large number of the measuring sensors and the fixed
register the interruption of the light barriers due to the panel system ensure a constant accuracy of measurement
decrease of intensity of the incoming infrared light. The over the whole measurement area of the frame.
measurement of the residual intensity is so accurate that
every infrared receiver distinguishes approx. 165 different
shadowing intensities.
This extremely precise measurement of the residual
intensity for every single light barrier which has been
covered by a bullet flying through the frame allows for an
accuracy of 1/100 mm. Together with the information about
the position and the amount of the partially or completely
covered light barriers the position of the bullet in the frame
is determined with an accuracy of 1/10 mm.
Another aspect contributing to the high measurement
accuracy are the fixed hole matrix panels which are
installed at the inner edges of the measuring frame. Laser
technology is used to manufacture the stainless steel
panels for two important reasons.
The precise cutting of the panels and drill holes allows for a
sharp and fixed light beam. Due to the fixed panel grid, the
positions of the single light beams, as well as the frame
center, are clearly defined. Contrary to other measuring
systems the MEYTON measuring frame possesses a
”fixed center“.
Furthermore, the stainless steel is resistant to temperature
fluctuations. Variable external conditions do not influence
the position of the light beams, the “fixed center“ is always
in the same postion.
Dust remains dust
A big advantage of the MEYTON measuring method over
other optical measurement systems, e.g. camera systems,
is the surface of the sensors which are many times larger.
In the MEYTON system, the multitude of the independent
sensors in the grid generates a sensor area which extends
over the entire inner edges of the measuring frame.
Therefore, in most cases only a few sensors of the
measuring frame are affected by dust or other dirt
particles.
Even if a sensor is partially covered by dirt particles, the
MEYTON system compensates by increasing the
transmission power of the infrared emitters. A constant
measurement accuracy is thereby ensured over the entire
measurement area of the frame.
Advantages of the MEYTON
measurement method
• measurement without contact
no expenses for consumables such as paper
or rubber rolls
• large sensor area
constant measurement accuracy over the
whole measurement area of the frame
low susceptibility to dirt and variations in
temperature

Big measuring frame MF4R3 (without casing )
Small measuring frame MF4R1 (without casing)
MEYTON:
We resolve it
Our measuring frames (MF4R3 and MF4R1) are made of
stainless steel and are highly suitable for all disciplines,
which have a hit area of 550 x 550 mm² or 180 x 180
mm².
These include, amongst others:
air rifles, air pistols ,25 m pistols, 50 m rifles, 50 m pistols,
100 m rifles, large caliber and muzzle loaders. All calibers
will be measured correctly.
The measurement of the bullet is made with the aid of 256
light barriers (MF4R3) (96 light barriers MF4R1) per axis.
Each one of these light barriers is again divided by the
evaluation electronics into approx. 165 steps. This results
in a total of 42.240 steps (MF4R3) (15.840 steps MF4R1)
or in other words, a measurement resolution of 0.013 mm
(MF4R3) (0.011mm MF4R1). The entire area of
penetration has this high resolution, not only the center as
in other measurement methods .
This means that:
the MF4R3 differentiates 42.240 x 42.240 = 1.784.217.600
points = 1.784 mega pixels.
the MF4R1 differentiates 15.840 x 15.840 = 250.905.600
points = 250 mega pixels.
By comparison:
Quality digital cameras only have a resolution up to 12
mega pixels!

All at one glance
You have your hit in sight at all times with our shooting
monitor! The clear, high-contrast image provides an
exact assessment of your performance by using a
color arrangement of the hit.
For your fans we offer the option of following the
competition on a large screen using a projector.
MEYTON
shows ist colours
The screen display on the shooting monitor is based on a
simple schematic. On the left side bar is the discipline,
individual values of the shots fired (including shot number
and hit position), series sums and total results. The shot
image can be displayed as a single shot, a 5 shot group or
the total shot image, and the selected shot image can be
sent to a printer for a hard copy.
One special feature is our color display of the hit. If the shot
hole lights up red on the monitor, the shot is immediately
recognized as a 10. In the same manner, a yellow display
of the hit is a 9 and blue is an 8 or lower.
Based on this outstanding display, since the beginning of
the "Bundesliga" for air weapons (German Team
Championships) in 1996, MEYTON has been always
used in the final competition, which is followed yearly by
over 1000 spectators on monitors in large halls.
In combination with a results PC (workstation), the shooters‘
names, nation/club and range number can also be
shown on the monitor. And in the Bundesliga program the
individual point for the leading shooter can be displayed.
