Introduction
Inter-Islamic Network on Space Sciences & Technology (ISNET) and National Authority for
Remote Sensing & Space Sciences (NARSS), Egypt are jointly organising a <strong>Training</strong> <strong>Course</strong>
on Applications of Satellite Radar Technology for Development from 29 Jan – 03 Feb
2012 at NARSS Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Objectives
• To familiarise participants with the science and properties of Radar
• To acquaint participants on techniques of SAR image manipulation and interpretation
• To impart hands-on training on applications utilizing SAR data for monitoring
activities using PCI Tools
<strong>Course</strong> Contents
• RADAR Remote Sensing; Introduction to SAR; Fundamentals of SAR Interpretation
• Hands-on exercises using PCI Geomatica Image Analysis Software
• Operational Exercises
Participation and Attendance
Scientists and researchers from ISNET member countries can participate.
Application Deadline
Last date for sending applications is 15 December 2011. Applicants must submit a
completely filled application form endorsed by the head of his/her organisation along with the
scanned copies of first four pages of passport.

ISNET will offer a limited number of full or partial sponsorships to selected candidates from
its member countries. To apply for sponsorship, a candidate must submit a completely filled
application form endorsed by the head of his/her organisation along with the scanned copies
of first four pages of passport.
Venue & Accommodation
The <strong>Training</strong> course will be held at NARSS Headquarters in Cairo. NARSS shall arrange
accommodation at a suitable hotel in Cairo.
Life & Health Insurance
The organisers and sponsors shall neither assume any responsibility for life and major
health insurance, nor for expenses related to medical treatment or accidental events. These
will be the responsibility of each participant or of the nominating institution.
