Q: What is the discount on the gym memberships
A: The discounts vary from club to club but all the rates and savings are displayed on the GymFlex website which
you can get to via www.barrattflexiblebenefits.co.uk . You also save up to 11% National
Insurance on the value of the gym membership.
Example savings (including NI) are:
Fitness First – Leicester, Barratt Benefits monthly rate: £26.55 (Normal £42.00)
Nuffield - Nottingham, Barratt Benefits monthly rate: £44.55 (Normal £60.00)
LA Fitness – Gatwick, Barratt Benefits monthly rate: £25.74 (Normal £45.00)
Curves –London, Barratt Benefits monthly rate: £32.75 (Normal £46.50)
Harpers Leisure Centres, Barratt Benefits monthly rate: £27.66 (Normal £37.91)
Q: What if the club I want to join is not listed
A: Please call the GymFlex team on 0845 300 6474 and they will do their very best to enrol the club for you.
They can be local leisure centres, health clubs or hotel gyms. We already deal with most of the large operators.
Q: What if I don’t want to join online
A: The GymFlex team can select your membership for you if you contact them on 0845 300 6474. You will need
you Payroll Number to hand.
Q: When will my membership start
A: Each employee's membership will be active from the start of the following month after you have selected your
membership and the confirmation statement sent to you from Barratt has been signed and returned.
Q: When do I start paying
A: Your monthly payments will begin in your next pay packet after the "membership live" date printed on your
confirmation receipt
Q: How long is my membership for
A: Your membership is for a period of 12 (twelve) months
Q: Can I pay off the balance early or pay over a shorter time
A: No. The commitment will run over for 12 months
Q: What if I am already a member of the club
A: Existing members are eligible to move to the new GymFlex rate. In most cases this will happen automatically
after you have chosen a membership via GymFlex, However we advise employees to inform their clubs and to
cancel their existing direct debit. However this may not apply to employees on a fixed length contract (typically
12 months) so if you are part way through a fixed contract please speak to the GymFlex team on 0845 300 6474
who will be able to assist you.
Q: Is my wife / husband / partner/ spouse eligible
A: Yes. Barratt Developments know how important our people and their families are and you have the facility to
purchase SINGLE and JOINT memberships via My Barratt Benefits.
Q: What happens if I want to cancel my membership
A: Your membership is for a period of 12 (twelve) months and is non-cancellable.
Q: What happens if I leave employment
A: If you cease employment with your employer part way through your 12 month agreement, Barratt may request
the balance of your membership from you on termination of your employment. As these will no longer be part of
your flex or salary sacrifice scheme you will not save the national insurance on the remaining balance.

Q: What happens if I move out of the area
A: You are still liable for paying the membership at the club for the remainder of the benefit scheme year in which
you move. It may be possible for you to transfer your membership to a site with the same provider nearer your
new home but this is entirely at their discretion and you should contact the GymFlex team.
Q: What are the tax and National Insurance implications of purchasing my
membership through GymFlex
A: Purchasing your gym membership through GymFlex entitles you to National Insurance Contribution savings
on the value of the gym membership when compared to paying for your membership out of net salary
