K – 6 DANCE PROGRAM
K – 6 Dance Program begins – K.P.S.
STUDENT ACCOUNTS
Reminder letters have been forwarded to those families who have overdue student accounts. Some of these
accounts range from current and previous terms for school and extra-curricular activities that parents and caregivers
had provided permission with an agreement to provide payment upon invoice. In a recent review of student
accounts, the school is owed a considerable amount of money from these overdue accounts. It would be appreciated
if all accounts could be brought up to date by Monday 19 September 2011. I will be making contact with parents and
caregivers directly after this date, should your account still be in arrears. Thank you to all of the parents and
caregivers who have updated and made payments this week – it is greatly appreciated!
I look forward to seeing you all at our “Loud Lunch” this Sunday if not, certainly at our
“Kegworth on Broadway” production next Tuesday!
Enjoy your week
Belinda Perih

REHEARSALS
All students performing in the Performing Arts Concert will need to attend a rehearsal at Sydney Secondary College
– Leichhardt on Tuesday 20 September. A note detailing travel to and from SSC Leichhardt was sent home
previously with a permission slip that must be returned with the $5.00 payment for buses.
Students who have not brought in their note and payment, will not be able to attend on this day.
Please note that we will not be able to telephone parents on the day of the rehearsal to seek verbal
permission for students to attend the rehearsal.
This rehearsal is a dress rehearsal. All student performers must arrive at school in the morning dressed in their item
clothing.
Lunch and recess should be brought to the rehearsal in your child’s school bag – please ensure that all lunch boxes
bags are clearly labelled. There will be no school canteen access on this day.

PERFORMANCE CONCERT
For the afternoon concert, the school hall doors will be open to our parents and friends from 1:00pm.The Concert
begins promptly at 1:30pm.
Concert programs will be available upon entry into the hall. An entry fee of $5:00 per family group would be
appreciated. These funds will then be used to supplement future performing arts concert requirements.
All of our K – 6 students will already be in seated position in the front of the auditorium – it would be appreciated if
parents did not disturb or take any students away during this time so that they do not miss their important cueing
performance time.
Please be advised that this is still a normal school day for the High School students at Sydney Secondary College.
As our Concert beginning and conclusion time will overlap during their lunchtime and dismissal times – it would be
appreciated if parents and friends could enter and exit the school hall from entrances located on Derbyshire Road
(parallel to Pioneers’ Memorial Park) to avoid disruption to the College’s regular routine.
DURING THE CONCERT:-
During the Concert, we ask all of our audience to please turn off mobile phones and to try to avoid walking in and out
while items are being performed on the stage.
Food and beverages are not permitted in the School Hall. Smoking is also not permitted on school property.
CONCLUSION OF CONCERT:-
At the completion of the Concert, we will be requesting that the audience remain seated until the conclusion of the
musical bracket of the finale. This will provide all student performers with an opportunity to leave the stage area and
assemble near collection points around the school hall.
If you would like to collect your child to take them home – please ensure that you have seen your child’s class
teacher prior to leaving. It is essential that all students have their names marked off for safety reasons.
Please look for the large coloured class posters around the perimeter of the hall - where your child will be waiting
with their teacher. Students who are not collected will be returning by bus, with their class teacher, to school.
Please assist us in this procedure for picking up your child so that we can ensure the safety and security of each and
every Kegworth student.
We hope you enjoy our Performing Arts Concert as much as we will
enjoy performing it for you!
See you at the show!
SPRING CLEAN UP
Gardening Bee
Sunday 16 October 2011 - 10.00 am – 1.00 pm.
Time to grasp the secateurs, raise the brooms and wield the spades to tackle the weeds in our school playgrounds!
We have plenty of mulching to do too. We are also going to core the grass in the senior playground and do some
work in the ground of the Preschool. Please bring gloves, hats, spades, wheel barrows, and secateurs, if you have
them.
It would be wonderful if you and /or your family could come to help. You know what they say “Many hands make light
work”. It is a good opportunity to meet other families in our wonderful school community.
We will have a sausage sizzle at the end. We hope to see you there!
