As many of the IPAs are part of exist<strong>in</strong>g protected <strong>areas</strong>, nature conservation is<br />
recorded as a l<strong>and</strong> use <strong>in</strong> almost half of IPAs. Forestry, tourism <strong>and</strong> hunt<strong>in</strong>g are major<br />
l<strong>and</strong> uses.Agriculture <strong>in</strong> the form of graz<strong>in</strong>g, arable l<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> hay mak<strong>in</strong>g (as shown<br />
above) is a widespread l<strong>and</strong> use <strong>in</strong> IPAs <strong>and</strong> wild <strong>plant</strong> harvest<strong>in</strong>g is practised to vary<strong>in</strong>g<br />
degrees <strong>in</strong> just over one hundred IPAs.<br />
