THE COMPETITION
The Barclays Photographic Awards 2010 are aimed at
capturing the moments of success and failure, and the
essence and emotion of Barclays Premier League football.
Now in their eighth year, the Awards are open to all
professional photographers and recognise the importance
of photography within the game.
The Barclays Photographic Awards run in line with our
other official Awards; Barclays Player and Manager of the
Year, Barclays Player and Manager Monthly Awards, The
Barclays Golden Glove and The Barclays Golden Boot.

PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE SEASON 2010
Entries for this category must contain five photographs
representing the spirit, emotion and skill of football. The
portfolio should be action/sports news images related to
the Barclays Premier League Season 2009/10.
SHOT OF THE SEASON 2010
Entries for this category must contain one photograph
encapsulating the Barclays Premier League Season 2009/10 -
a defining image from a live Barclays Premier League match.
Entrants must send one picture only.

THE PRIZES
The Barclays Photographer of the Season will receive a
Barclays Award and £10,000 of photographic equipment.
The Barclays Shot of the Season winner will receive a Barclays
Award and £5,000 of photographic equipment.
LAST YEAR’S WINNERS
The Guardian’s Tom Jenkins was last year’s Barclays
Photographer of the Season. Tom submitted five
photographs, including the image used on the front
cover, that were judged to best represent the spirit, emotion
and skill of Barclays Premier League football, taken
during the 2008/9 campaign.
Graham Chadwick, from the Daily Mail, won the Barclays
Shot of the Season. Graham’s photograph captured
Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer at full stretch in an attempt to
keep out Blackburn’s Jason Roberts under floodlights
during a Barclays Premier League game at Craven Cottage.

HOW TO ENTER
Entries must be accompanied by the completed
entry form. Photographs can only be submitted
as PC compatible photoshop files on CD
compressed to JPEG standard. Pictures for
either category must be in a folder of the
category name e.g. Barclays Football
Photographer of the Season or Barclays Shot of
the Season. No identity or caption should be
put on the picture. Photographers can enter
either or both categories.
All photographs must have been taken
during the 2009/10 Barclays Premier League
season. Images from FA Cup, League Cup or
Champions League will not be entered into the
awards. Entries may be colour or black and
white, or a combination of both.

No copyright on entries will be claimed by
the organisers but it is a condition of entry that
the organisers retain the right to reproduce any
picture or give permission for the reproduction
of any picture without a payment of fee.
JUDGING
The organisers reserve their right to appoint the
judges. The judges’ decision is final. Entries will be
judging principally on their interest and impact as
well as on their technical merit. Entrance implies
acceptance of the full rules. Failure to comply with
any rule may result in disqualification.
The organisers cannot accept responsibility
for non-receipt (whether or not there is proof of
posting) loss or damage of entries.
