THE COMPETITION<br />
The <strong>Barclays</strong> <strong>Photo</strong>graphic <strong>Awards</strong> <strong>2010</strong> are aimed at<br />
capturing the moments of success and failure, and the<br />
essence and emotion of <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League football.<br />
Now in their eighth year, the <strong>Awards</strong> are open to all<br />
professional photographers and recognise the importance<br />
of photography within the game.<br />
The <strong>Barclays</strong> <strong>Photo</strong>graphic <strong>Awards</strong> run in line with our<br />
other official <strong>Awards</strong>; <strong>Barclays</strong> Player and Manager of the<br />
Year, <strong>Barclays</strong> Player and Manager Monthly <strong>Awards</strong>, The<br />
<strong>Barclays</strong> Golden Glove and The <strong>Barclays</strong> Golden Boot.<br />

representing the spirit, emotion and skill of football. The<br />
portfolio should be action/sports news images related to<br />
the <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League Season 2009/10.<br />
SHOT OF THE SEASON <strong>2010</strong><br />
Entries for this category must contain one photograph<br />
encapsulating the <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League Season 2009/10 -<br />
a defining image from a live <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League match.<br />

THE PRIZES<br />
The <strong>Barclays</strong> <strong>Photo</strong>grapher of the Season will receive a<br />
<strong>Barclays</strong> Award and £10,000 of photographic equipment.<br />
The <strong>Barclays</strong> Shot of the Season winner will receive a <strong>Barclays</strong><br />
Award and £5,000 of photographic equipment.<br />
LAST YEAR’S WINNERS<br />
The Guardian’s Tom Jenkins was last year’s <strong>Barclays</strong><br />
<strong>Photo</strong>grapher of the Season. Tom submitted five<br />
photographs, including the image used on the front<br />
cover, that were judged to best represent the spirit, emotion<br />
and skill of <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League football, taken<br />
during the 2008/9 campaign.<br />
Graham Chadwick, from the Daily Mail, won the <strong>Barclays</strong><br />
Shot of the Season. Graham’s photograph captured<br />
Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer at full stretch in an attempt to<br />
keep out Blackburn’s Jason Roberts under floodlights<br />
during a <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League game at Craven Cottage.<br />

HOW TO ENTER<br />
Entries must be ac<strong>com</strong>panied by the <strong>com</strong>pleted<br />
entry form. <strong>Photo</strong>graphs can only be submitted<br />
as PC <strong>com</strong>patible photoshop files on CD<br />
<strong>com</strong>pressed to JPEG standard. Pictures for<br />
either category must be in a folder of the<br />
category name e.g. <strong>Barclays</strong> Football<br />
<strong>Photo</strong>grapher of the Season or <strong>Barclays</strong> Shot of<br />
the Season. No identity or caption should be<br />
put on the picture. <strong>Photo</strong>graphers can enter<br />
either or both categories.<br />
All photographs must have been taken<br />
during the 2009/10 <strong>Barclays</strong> Premier League<br />
season. Images from FA Cup, League Cup or<br />
Champions League will not be entered into the<br />
awards. Entries may be colour or black and<br />
white, or a <strong>com</strong>bination of both.<br />

No copyright on entries will be claimed by<br />
the organisers but it is a condition of entry that<br />
the organisers retain the right to reproduce any<br />
picture or give permission for the reproduction<br />
of any picture without a payment of fee.<br />
JUDGING<br />
The organisers reserve their right to appoint the<br />
judges. The judges’ decision is final. Entries will be<br />
judging principally on their interest and impact as<br />
well as on their technical merit. Entrance implies<br />
acceptance of the full rules. Failure to <strong>com</strong>ply with<br />
any rule may result in disqualification.<br />
The organisers cannot accept responsibility<br />
for non-receipt (whether or not there is proof of<br />
posting) loss or damage of entries.
