Logo Redesign
In the early 1990s the Port Huron
High School logo was a hand drawn
Indian Chief Head with a partial circle
encompassing it and circus lettering at
the bottom. The hand drawn logo did
not lend itself well for print.
We set out to redesign the logo and
retain the overall familiar shape. This
new logo is easier to manipulate and
use for other purposes as you can see
through out this article and here in this
section.
This logo for example was created for the
senior prom. With a new Chief Head it is
easier to use and manipulate in multiple
ways.

Academy Shield
The academy shield was created to be
used for academic designs. While the
Chief Logo is more representative of
Port Huron High School’s athletics, it
does not fully embrace the strong and
nearly 150 year academic tradition.
This is one of the first logos used by Port Huron
High School dating back to the early 1900s.
This logo was discovered on
football team photos from
the early 1900s. It was on a
blanket or banner that was
draped in front of the team.
It had gone unnoticed for
almost a century, until one
day a staff member was
starring at it for an idea
for a throwback varsity
sweater. He took the photo
blew it up in his design
program and unlocked the
hidden gem. Here is it today
reworked a little and usable
again.

We have taken many of our queues from the design world. This shield is one of them. This
encorporates the 1900s logo with our founding year in a hearldry shield. A patch was
produced from this design available to clubs and individuals.

o man is an island. It
takes a community
to raise a product.
Even though there
is a man behind the creative
process there are always
inputs from the community at
large. None of these designs
would have been possible
or come to life without the
support of the people in the
community evaluating and
willing to take risks along the
way. Many people have made
suggestions that have led to
new ideas and break throughs.
Parents for example, said they
wanted Adidas apparel, at a
time when the business was
looking to move in a differnt
direction. We listened to their
request and began searching
out suppliers and ways to
make this happen. Because of
that we now offer a full Adidas
line. Without their suggestion
we would have missed out
on great opportunities and
growth. Without their inputs
many people would have
missed out on the great
apparel that have come along
with the great prices. We just
wanted to say a big THANK
YOU to all of our supporters
out there.
The difficult is quick to accomplish;
the impossible a little longer.
