<strong>Adverbs</strong><br />

An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. <strong>Adverbs</strong> indicate<br />

time, place, or manner. To identify a word that you may think be an adverb, you can ask the<br />

questions “When”, “Where”, or “How”.<br />

Examples:<br />

Adverb <strong>of</strong> manner:<br />

In the following sentences, circle the adverbs <strong>and</strong> underline the verbs they modify. In the<br />

space below each sentence, identify whether the circled adverb in the sentence is an adverb<br />

<strong>of</strong> time, place, or manner.<br />
