recyclable materials is high priority in 

our process of conceiving new design. 

80% of our lights are energy efficient 

fluorescent or LED lighting. 

But what’s more green than having a 

beautifully crafted light that continues 

to function well and looks stunning 

decades from now

Artemide was founded by Ernesto Gismondi 

and Sergio Mazza in 1960. The ongoing 

commitment to research and technological 

innovation combined with the collaboration of 

the best designers from around the world 

joined with the ongoing advertising and 

outstanding relationship with the industry’s 

media firms have made Artemide the best 

known lighting brand in the world synonymous 

with Design, Light, and Made in Italy. 

In almost half a century of business and 

entrepreneurial experiences, a surprising 

common characteristic is reviled. Artemide 

products do not conform to traditions, trends, 

fads, and a fashion at the moment. This rouge 

behavior defines the Artemide experience 

which is the exhausting desire to find solutions 

to the human demand for lighting, even if still 

unexpressed and unconscious. The individual is 

constantly placed at the center of the project. 

Formal and aesthetic needs, technological 

innovations, individual and collective talents 

have been, are, and always will be dedicated 

to this purpose.
