Jason Moore, ‘89<br />

Jason Moore is a <strong>Fayetteville</strong> native who attended the <strong>Fayetteville</strong> <strong>Public</strong><br />

<strong>Schools</strong> and graduated from <strong>Fayetteville</strong> High School in 1989. He received a<br />

BS degree in Performance Studies from Northwestern University.<br />

After several years in Hollywood, Jason moved to New York to try his hand at<br />

directing. He was the resident director <strong>of</strong> “Ragtime” on Broadway and with the<br />

First National and Vancouver touring companies. He continues to serve as the<br />

associate director <strong>of</strong> Broadway and national touring companies <strong>of</strong> “Les<br />

Miserables”<br />

Moore directed “Avenue Q,” which moved to Broadway in 2003 and received<br />

Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score in 2004. He also<br />

directed “Steel Magnolias” on Broadway in 2005. He will direct the musical<br />

Broadway version <strong>of</strong> the hit movie “Shrek” in 2007-08.<br />

Jason has also written for television on shows such as “Dawson’s Creek,”<br />

“Everwood,” and “One Tree Hill.”
