The Veolia Environmental Trust will soon be announcing a donation to a local Parish
Council of £5225 for improvement to one of their Jubilee paths.
Over the last 12 months the trust has made the following donations:
Codsall Village Hall - £9026 to improve heating etc
Trinity Methodist Church Codsall - £20,000 improvements to the church
The Washlands in Burton on Trent - £9351 for planting at the washlands
Health and Safety
There have now been 163,000 hours of work on the site without a lost time incident.
Along with CNIM Clugston Veolia have made a pledge to make a donation to six
local schools linked to non loss of man hours due to accident. Each time they reach
100,000 man hours on site without accident a school will receive £1000.
The first school – St Pauls CE First School in Coven has already been visited and will
be receiving their donation after Easter.
Each school will be shown a presentation about site safety, asked to produce a
poster and there will be prizes given to the best. The school will receive a donation
of £1000 (£500 from Veolia £500 from CNIM Clugston) to use for an environmental
project within the school.
The second school is St Mary and St Chad CE First School in Brewood. They will be
receiving a visit from Veolia after Easter.

Brewood C.E. Middle School Brewood
St Dominic’s High School for Girls Brewood
Havergal CE Primary School Shareshill
Inter Authority Agreement (IAA) and Contract Management Board
The Contract Management Board met on 31 January and included and was held on
site. No significant issues were raised by the Board members. The excellent progress
of the Project to date was noted.
Local Employment
Both Veolia and Clugston Construction are committed to using subcontractor and
direct labour from the local area. Veolia have promised to keep SCC updated on the
appointment of West Midlands based subcontractors to the Project and have made a
website available for any contractors wishing to become suppliers:

Clugston have stated that they are actively trying to recruit local construction labour
in order to reduce their on site costs (Clugston are based in Scunthorpe). The
Construction activities currently employ about 130 staff, most of whom are
subcontract labour, and will employ up to 250 workers during the build period. 83% of
the workers and subcontractors come from within a 30 radius of the site.
