The Health <strong>and</strong> Welfare SETA (HWSETA) has as its vision <strong>the</strong> creation of a<br />

skilled workforce to meet <strong>the</strong> <strong>health</strong> <strong>and</strong> social development needs of all<br />

people of South Africa. Over <strong>the</strong> past years major developments have<br />

taken place affecting <strong>the</strong> <strong>health</strong> <strong>and</strong> social development sector that will<br />

shape <strong>the</strong> future of our sector over <strong>the</strong> following 5 years. It is against this<br />

background that <strong>the</strong> HWSETA invites you to attend its third <strong>conference</strong>.

Dear Delegates<br />

Thank you for giving up your valuable time to<br />

join us at <strong>the</strong> national <strong>conference</strong> of <strong>the</strong> Health<br />

<strong>and</strong> Welfare Sector Education <strong>and</strong> Training<br />

Authority.<br />

We are pleased <strong>and</strong> proud to be able to host this<br />

national <strong>conference</strong> here at The Lord Charles –<br />

Somerset West. Cape Town. As we enter into<br />

our 15th year of our Democracy, <strong>the</strong> HWSETA<br />

is gearing up to <strong>meeting</strong> <strong>the</strong> skills development<br />

challenges within <strong>the</strong> Health <strong>and</strong> Social<br />

Development Sectors.<br />

The HWSETA has called this two day<br />

<strong>conference</strong> to give stakeholders <strong>the</strong> opportunity<br />

to come toge<strong>the</strong>r with <strong>the</strong> Board, Management<br />

<strong>and</strong> Staff in a bid to promote <strong>and</strong> find solutions<br />

to skills development challenges with in <strong>the</strong><br />

sector.<br />

We have a number of exciting speakers who<br />

will be addressing us today <strong>and</strong> tomorrow <strong>and</strong><br />

with <strong>the</strong> question <strong>and</strong> answer sessions this<br />

will give delegates <strong>the</strong> opportunity to unpack<br />

challenging issues <strong>and</strong> to network.<br />

We trust that this <strong>conference</strong> will add value to<br />
