Uniqueness – The Signature ‘Doodad’
In the summer of 1927, while doodling in the sand on the
bank of a stream with his son Jack, Edgar Rice Burroughs
invented a personal symbol which he referred to as a
hieroglyph or ‘doodad’ which he frequently used to sign
personal letters and on the dust jackets/spines of his books.
• This unique symbol adds a personal touch unique to ERB.
• The signature ‘Doodad’ adds authenticity to your products
whether incorporated directly onto product (zipper pulls,
buttons, watermark, hologram, embossed or etched) or a
POS signature (hang tags, all printed marketing material).
