Fit2Dance<br />

Get fit, have fun and meet new friends.<br />

Mini Sparks<br />

A creative class for all dancers to explore<br />

movement and basic dance technique.<br />

Artbox<br />

A fun friendly, after school art activity for<br />

children and their parents/ carers, led by artist<br />

Georgina Ridehalgh. For ages 4- 11 years<br />

(under 7s should attend with an adult).<br />

Tiny Theatre<br />

A fun introduction to drama skills and<br />

performance for ages 4-7, giving little ones<br />

the chance to express themselves gain in<br />

confidence and communication skills.<br />

Vocalise<br />

Come and join other like-minded people in<br />

learning to sing, having the chance to perform<br />

and record. The atmosphere is friendly and that<br />

will help you to grow as a vocal performer and<br />

support you in all aspects of the art of singing;<br />

be it solo, duet or part of a group!<br />

Halton Young People's Theatre<br />

A mix of theatre, music and design. Please<br />

note that those wishing to join must phone or<br />

email the Brindley to check if there are places<br />

Embroidered Wire Birdcage<br />

with Julia Jowett<br />

Saturday 14 February<br />

Create an enchanting little hanging birdcage from<br />

wire. Enjoy embellishing and decorating your<br />

sculptural piece with found metal ephemera,<br />

haberdashery treasures and traditional hand embroidery<br />

techniques such as cross stitch and picot<br />

edgings. Led by Unit 12 artist Julia Jowett whose<br />

work appeared in our exhibition Are you listening<br />

Carefully in the summer. Suitable for ages 16 plus.<br />

Costs £30 including all materials.<br />

Safe Etching at Hazlehurst Studios<br />

Saturday 21 March<br />

Arts Development are partnering with Hazlehurst<br />

Studios to offer an etching workshop with a<br />

difference. North Wales based printmaker<br />

Don Braisby will be showing you how to etch<br />

aluminium plates with saline sulphate and you’ll be<br />

printing your images in the lovely print facilities at<br />

Hazlehurst Studios at 73a High Street, Runcorn.<br />

We’re sorry but this building has no disabled<br />

access.Suitable for ages 16 plus. Costs £30<br />

including all materials.<br />

Further wire sculpture<br />

with Angela Sidwell<br />

Saturday 18 April<br />

If you enjoyed Angela’s workshop in November<br />

creating wire<br />

animals, this is<br />

an opportunity<br />

for you to<br />

develop your<br />

techniques<br />

and hone<br />

your skills in<br />

sculpture. Also<br />

suitable for<br />

beginners as a<br />

great introduction into working with wire in three<br />

dimensions. Suitable for ages 16 plus. Costs £30<br />

including all materials.<br />

Introduction to Cyanotype printing<br />

with Niki Carlin<br />

Saturday 9 May<br />

In this hands-on workshop led by photographic<br />

artist Niki Carlin you will discover how to use<br />

this historic technique to create stunning Prussian<br />

blue prints. You will learn how the chemistry<br />

works and how to hand coat papers in a variety<br />

of ways so you can experiment with making your<br />

own cyanotype prints. You will be introduced to<br />

a variety of techniques to help you express your<br />

creative flair and will learn how photograms work.<br />

All materials are provided but you are strongly<br />

encouraged to bring along small items from<br />

home to help you make interesting compositions;<br />

leaves, flowers, lace, small items of light clothing<br />

(lingerie works particularly well!), large format<br />

photographic negatives etc. The cyanotype process<br />

also works well on fabric so feel free to bring along<br />

any fabric pieces you might like to use. Suitable for<br />

ages 16 plus. Costs £30 including all materials.<br />
