Families Helping Families provides a non-threatening,
comfortable and confidenal environment where members
have the opportunity to learn about alcoholism, how

What is it that all men and women seek if it is not God We can idle away the days of our lives, but within us we are all
children fervently seeking a relaonship with God. Aer idling much for the first fiy-seven years of my life and choosing
atheism, more out of laziness than intelligence, I finally listened to and understood God’s call and His love. All things
have changed now in my life and my journey as a new Chrisan brought me, along with my wife, Kathryn, into full communion
with the Catholic Church a few weeks ago here at St. Peter’s.
My journey as a new Chrisan is coming to an end, but the next part of my journey is a long spiritual pilgrimage on the
Way of St. James, or the Camino de Sanago de Compostela in Spain, where I will be walking 497 miles over 40 days. (See

I have some God directed spiritual tasks to complete for myself on this journey as I say farewell to the person I was before
my spiritual birth as a Chrisan. I would like to share this journey and photos of the countryside with you to perhaps

Eucharisc Ministers to the
Homebound
One of the most important ministries within our
parish is the sharing of Holy Communion to those
individuals who are homebound or living in nursing
and personal care comes. We have many in our parish
who are elderly or unable physically to aend
Mass on Sundays. Many of these individuals have
been acve, lifelong members of the parish and miss
parcipang in the liturgy. Eucharisc ministers to the homebound help to fill that
gap. Through the sharing of the Word of God and Holy Communion, the minister
now “carries” the care of the parish family to the homebound and sick.
We need both English and Spanish speaking Eucharisc Ministers. You may choose
to visit one or two individuals, or take communion to larger numbers of residents in a
nursing home or personal care home facility. Training is provided and ministers are
usually matched to someone in their immediate locale.
To volunteer to serve as a minister to the homebound, please contact Ginny Nolan at
239-774-3337, Ext. 21 or e-mail her at ginny@stpeternaples.com. This is a most important
and very spiritually rewarding ministry.

Busy Bees!
St. Vincent was interested in feeding
the hungry, vising the prisoners,
caring for the sick, educang the
poor. But he was also intensely interested
in helping people, parcularly
the poor, to be reconciled with
God, to cherish their faith, and to be
loyal to the Church. It was St. Vincent’s
great achievement that he
worked to save both the bodies and
souls of the poor. He worked to save
the whole person. Inspired by Gospel
values, the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul, leads women and men to
join together to grow spiritually
throughout the year by offering person-to-person
services to the needy
and suffering, in the tradion of its
founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam,
and patron St. Vincent de Paul.

Thanks to all the ladies who helped with our new Sewing Ministry this year! They were able to create and
deliver 46 garments, including dresses, shorts and even pajamas to Catholic Charies, who distributed
them to those in need in Immokalee.
Also, thanks to our Shawl Ministry parcipants who have also been very busy. We have an abundance of prayer shawls
in the parish office now. If you know of someone who is sick or going through a rough me, etc., and would appreciate
a “hug and a prayer” through having one of our shawls, please stop by the office to pick one up.

YEAR OF FAITH
Through our readings this 6th Sunday, we’re given a glimpse of what our new home at the end of me will
be like.
CCC#1042: At the end of me, the Kingdom of God will come in its fullness. Aer the universal judgment,
the righteous will reign forever with Christ, glorified in body and soul. The universe itself will be renewed.
Lumen Genum #48: The Church…...will receive her perfecon only in the glory of heaven, when will
come the me of the renewal of all things. At that me, together with the human race, the universe itself,
which is so closely related to man and which aains its desny through him, will be perfectly reestablished
in Christ.
CCC #1043: Sacred Scripture calls this mysterious renewal, which will transform humanity and the world,
“new heavens and a new earth.” It will be definive realizaon of God’s plan to bring under a single head
“all things in (Christ), things in heaven and things on earth.”
CCC #1044 and Gaudium et Spes #39 paragraph 1: We know neither the moment of the consummaon of
the earth and of man nor the way the universe will be transformed. The form of this world, distorted by
sin, is passing away and we are taught that God is preparing a new dwelling and new earth in which righteousness
dwells, whose happiness will fill and surpass all the desires of peace arising in the hearts of men.

2. Parcipar de una charla en la capilla de la iglesia. Los
padrinos enen que ser miembros de la iglesia católica,
presentar el acta de bausmo
3. Presentar el acta de nacimiento del niño(a) el día de la
charla.
4. La charla se ofrece los jueves a las 6:00 p.m. para que
la celebración del bauzo se pueda efectuar el sábado de
la misma semana.
5. Para evitar inconvenientes, rogamos sean puntuales.

San Vicente de Paul ayudó a toda persona que necesitaba asistencia,
parcularmente al pobre, a reconciliarlo con Dios y aumentar su
fe. El trabajó para salvar no solo el cuerpo, sino el alma de los pobres.
Inspirados en los Evangelios, SVDP guía a sus miembros a crecer
espiritualmente, ofreciendo personalmente sus servicios a los
necesitados y a los que sufren.
Considera unirte a los Vicennos de Saint Peter the Apostle. La
úlma reunión de la temporada será el día 10 de mayo en el Cry

ORACION DE LA SEMANA
La Palabra de Dios nos presenta hoy los conflictos y tensiones
que surgen en las comunidades, ebido a las diferentes
concepciones y corrientes de pensamientos que
existen. Esas diferencias suceden y seguirán sucediendo,
ya que no todos pensamos igual ni vemos las cosas de la
misma manera. Esto no es lo importante, ya que las diferencias
de opinión son normales, pero lo que me gustaría
hacer resaltar hoy es la manera en que se les hace frente
y se resuelven esas diferencias.
En el Primer Concilio de la iglesia, la primera reunión que
hicieron todos los responsables para resolver los problemas
de la época, ellos se reúnen en oración, dialogan e
invocan al Espíritu Santo y toman decisiones. Este es un
ejemplo que todos debemos seguir, sin actuar por detrás,
sin comentarios maliciosos, sin descalificaciones o acusaciones
mutuas, sino con responsabilidad, honesdad y,
sobre todo, con un espíritu de fe.
Los problemas que surgen no son malos en sí mismo; son
un reto, un signo de vida. Lo importante es saberlos
afrontar y remediar, y es ahí donde muchas veces fallamos
nosotros. Por eso debemos recordar y seguir el
ejemplo que hoy nos dejan los primeros crisanos.

Those wishing to receive Sacraments should be
registered and practicing members of this parish.
Sacrament of Baptism (English) For Baptism preparation
please call Deacon David Nolan at 643-0225. Parents are invited
to attend two evenings of preparation prior to celebrating the
Baptism of their children.
Marriage: Couples wishing to marry must meet with a priest
before setting a date at least six months in advance of an anticipated
wedding in order to complete the preparation process.
For residents of Collier County, one member of the engaged
couple must already be a registered parishioner at St. Peter’s for
at least six months before the couple can request to be married
here. If the couple is not local but wishes to marry at St. Peter’s
because of its desirable location, they must have the permission
of both their Pastor/Administrator and the pastor of St. Peter’s,
and should complete their marriage preparation in their parish of
