PRINCIPAL REPORT
WHAT IMPRESSED ME THIS WEEK
This week I was impressed by the support we got and the fun we had at our Book Character parade.
Most of the kids decided to participate and we are pleased to acknowledge their commitment and
support. Thanks to the parents who came along and to the staff who also joined in the fun.
CARS IN THE CARPARK OR DRIVING DANGEROUSLY AROUND OUR KIDS
A white hatchback rego number ARR 86W was speeding through the crossing the other day and
failed to give way to kids on the crossing. Please be careful around school….our kids are precious
and we don’t want them hurt.
THE FISH IN ACTION
Thank you Noah for handing in the money you found in the playground. We appreciate your honesty.
PUBLIC EDUCATION DAY TODAY
Today we have been celebrating Public Education in our school with the staff. On behalf of our
students I would like to say thank you to the staff of Sanctuary Point Public School for their
dedication to the students. We are proudly part of the largest education system in the world and
provide students with a first class education regardless of race, religion, sexual persuasion or
disability. Happy Public Education Day 2013.
WORDS OF THE WEEK
If you do not go after what you want , you’ll never have it.
If you do not ask, the answer will always be no
If you do not step forward, you’ll always be in the same place
School News
What a Fabulous Book Character Parade
Witches, Princesses’, superheroes and fairies, what do they all have in common Well, they were just
some of the many wonderful characters we had parading at our school on Tuesday 21 st May. All of the
students had a wonderful time, parading their costumes and watching everybody else show off their
outfits. There were lots of cheers, clapping and hi fives all round as students walked around
feeling very special for the day. All of the teachers and staff got into the spirit of the day and were
almost as fabulously dressed as the students. A very big thank you must go to the very lovely Lyndall
Joy Fancy Dress shop for loaning the costumes to the teachers for the day. Well done to the parents
for making such a big effort to help get the costumes organised. I’m sure your child appreciated it. The
parade was followed up with the sale of the books for the book fair, which will continue for the rest of
the week.
P&C News
Thank you for supporting the Sausage Sizzle yesterday at the Book Character parade. The event
raised $300. Some new innovative ideas have come forward on how we can support the school with
the
money raised. If you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them. Please speak to Amber Grainger
(secretary) through the school office or drop it into the money box in the front office. As always a big
thank you to our parent helpers.
Changes for Term 3

Starting Wednesday 19 th June, there will be a day P&C meeting. A $2 membership will have to
be paid. This P&C group will be known as the Fundraising Committee. Anything that is discussed
at this meeting, will then be brought to the P&C meeting that night.
Starting in Term 3 the canteen prices will change as canteen expenses have risen. We have
not had a price rise in many years. A new list will be sent home to each family when adjusted.
Also starting in Term 3, Uniform shop will be EFPOS or Internet Banking only. No cash will be
accepted.
School Photos
School Photos will be taken on Monday 17th June. This is a precious moment of our school days, but
you may wish to start putting money aside.
PSSA Netball Knockout
A few weeks ago our netballers played round one of the PSSA knockout against St Georges Basin.
Our lose of 19-1 didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the team. Congratulations girls, your
sportsmanship on the day did our school proud.
PSSA Touch Football
We travelled to Fairy Meadow last Friday to participate in the P.S.S.A touch football trials. We played
5 games and lost 2. Then we had a lunch break, after that they picked the possible and probable
team. We were both picked for these teams but unfortunately we missed out on being picked for the
state team. We had a fantastic time and it was great to play with others from surrounding schools.
We were very proud of ourselves for the days efforts.
