Flower Show Procedure and Horticulture: Darlene Newell is an Accredited<br />
Master Flower Show Judge, NGC Horticulture & Flower Show Procedure Instructor,<br />
and Symposium Instructor. A member <strong>of</strong> the Orchid, Daffodil and Chrysanthemum<br />
Societies, she also serves as Society Liaison chairman on the NGC Horticulture Committee.<br />
Darlene is also a Master <strong>Garden</strong>er and a Landscape Design Consultant.<br />
Design: Frances Thrash is an Accredited Master Flower Show Judge and a NGC<br />
Design Instructor. Frances is a life member <strong>of</strong> the American Iris Society, The Tidewater/Hampton<br />
Roads Iris Society, and a member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Virginia</strong> Camellia Society.<br />
Frances was invited to enter the WAFA (World Association <strong>of</strong> Flower Arrangers)<br />
Competition in Washington, D. C. in October 2009, “Excursion Americus”. She won a<br />
gold award (first place) in the class titled “Niagara <strong>Fall</strong>s.”<br />

Tuesday, March 20 5 - 7 pm Flower Show Procedure<br />
Wednesday, March 21 9 am - 3:30 pm Horticulture<br />
4 - 6 pm Point Scoring Test<br />
Thursday, March 22 9 am - 3:30 pm American Creative Design<br />
4 - 6 pm Point Scoring Text<br />
Friday, March 23 9 am - 12 noon Written Exam<br />
Registration opens 30 minutes before each session<br />
HOTEL INFORMATION:<br />
Room rates guaranteed through Feb 29, 2012 at $99/night single or double occupancy<br />
plus applicable taxes. Specify Queen or Queen/Queen. Ask for the <strong>Virginia</strong><br />
<strong>Federation</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Garden</strong> <strong>Clubs</strong> block. Garage parking is available at $4 per day. Please<br />
stay at THIS hotel. We will be charged for the meeting rooms if we do not meet the<br />
minimum nights usage.<br />
