Y5 TRIP TO THE HANCOCK
When Y5 went to the Hancock Museum*,
we saw: animals, fossils and even a
mummy.
This term we were learning about the Egyptians,
so we went to an Egyptian
Exhibition. The Egyptian Exhibition was
good because there was a computer which
let you convert your name into hieroglyphs.
The mummy dated back two thousand five
hundred years ago. There was pottery—a
replica of the Rosetta stone, which has
three languages: Greek, the early form of
hieroglyphics, and hieroglyphics.
The animals were amazing, there was–
Giraffes to Geese and mice to mammoths
there was everything, and there was even
live snakes too!
There was Roman pans, armour and there
was a small replica of Hadrian's wall which I
think was the best bit of the exhibit.
The shop, has everything from sweets to
science experiments. There is also, a café
that has cheap drinks and good food.
When we got back to school in English we
were doing leaflets, and we all wrote a leaflet
for the Hancock museum and we put
everything we learnt from the Hancock museum
into them. We liked the Hancock museum
we hope if you go, you will too!
