Sharp products come with energy-saving
functions
Combine Sharp’s prizewinning Quattron technology with the 1080p
X-Gen LCD panel and LED backlighting for a fantastic picture and
brilliantly low energy consumption. This is one example of how
Sharp takes responsibility for the environment and protects natural
resources.
All Sharp products come with energy-saving functions and are
manufactured with as little environmental impact as possible.
• Many of our TVs rank in the energy efficiency class A or A+.
• Sharp AQUOS were repeatedly among the Top Ten in several size categories
of the TV market survey carried out by the German environmental organisation
BUND (last survey of June 6, 2011 at www.bund.net/tv-finder)
• Many of Sharp’s TVs carry the European Ecolabel
Official EU Ecolabel Award
Sharp LCD TVs were the first to be awarded the
official environmental seal of the EU, the EU Ecolabel,
in 2005. Today many Sharp LED TVs bear the EU
Ecolabel.
Innovation for the environment
Sharp prioritises new technology that pays more
attention to the environment. The entire manufacturing
process is resource-optimised and mercury-free,
and the majority of components used can be
recycled.
Sakai – a production plant with the
environment in mind
Sharp’s new Sakai production plant in Japan is both resource and
energy-optimised for the manufacture of next-generation LCD
panels and thin-film solar cells. Sharp was in October 2009 the first
manufacturer to adopt the 10th generation mother glasses that
opens completely new possibilities when manufacturing large size
LCD Panels, in terms of supreme quality, cost reduction and material
optimisation.
1 4 Colour Technology
Lower energy consumption thanks to four-colour RGBY pixels, which
require less background light to reproduce pale colours.
2 LED
8 Eco-functions
Eight ecological features as well as additional qualities are
built into AQUOS LE models.
Sharp’s LED system enables precise brightness control and high-speed
response. This reduces the light required to view the same picture and
reduces power consumption.
3 X-Gen Panel
Compared to the conventional Advanced Super View panel, the new
X-Gen panel has a wider aperture ratio, allowing easy light transmission
through the panel. This greatly helps to achieve a high contrast ratio
with less power.
4 Eco Picture Control
Analysing the picture signal for optimum control of backlight brightness
and picture quality produces a high-quality picture with low power
consumption.
5 Main Power Switch
Turning off the TV at the mains saves almost the same amount of power
as pulling the plug out of the wall socket (0.01 W max.).
6 Energy Save Mode
The LE Series represents the latest in energy-saving design, with a
dedicated Eco button on the remote control that allows two levels of
energy saving: standard and advanced.
7 Optical Picture Control (OPC)
OPC automatically adjusts screen brightness according to the ambient
room brightness. Eco-friendly, since it saves energy, and is also easy on
the eyes.
8 No-Signal Off / No-Operation Off
The TV automatically switches to standby mode to reduce power consumption
if there is no signal for 15 minutes or no operation for three hours.
ECO functions may vary depending on model.
