Safety+PLUS ® gas connectors combine advanced corrosion protection
with state-of-the-art excess-flow technology to deliver a superior gas
connector for home and family.
The Safety+PLUS ® excess flow valve (EFV) helps prevent gas fires
and explosions due to line ruptures and disconnects at the appliance.
When triggered, the Safety+PLUS valve immediately restricts gas flow
to a non-hazardous level (bypass flow) to prevent dangerous release
of gas into the home.

Under normal operating conditions, the magnet holds the
plate in place, allowing full gas flow to the appliance.
Gas flow is controlled at the appliance where the problem occurred;
the rest of the home's system will continue to function. Once the
gas line is properly repaired, the valve automatically restores normal
gas flow to the appliance.

A gas line rupture results in unrestricted flow of gas,
forcing the plate away from the magnet. The plate sits
firmly against the seat, immediately restricting gas flow
to less than 5 SCFH (bypass flow).
