The Strand Palace Hotel has a
fascinating history that dates back
to 1907 when J. Lyons & Co were
given permission to build a “Grand
Hotel” in the prominent Westminster
thoroughfare of the Strand.
Two years later in 1909, the Strand
Palace Hotel opened.
In the 1920’s, Lyons and Co bought the
adjoining Haxells family hotel in order to
expand and improve the Strand hotel.
After extensive redevelopment, the hotel
re-opened in 1928 and became an
‘Art Deco Showcase’.
Some of these original features can still
be found today at the entrance to our
Meetings & Events Centre.

CONFERENCES
Whether you are looking to hold a one-to-one meeting, team briefing, board meeting, training seminar or
a large conference, the Strand Meetings and Events collection of contemporary suites are designed to
accommodate events of any nature.
The largest event space is the Exeter suite, which can accommodate up to 250 delegates* with the ability
to split into two separate rooms. With an additional seven meeting rooms all on one level, delivering a
logistical solution to the largest of events.
Our fully refurbished suites are fitted with the latest audio visual technology** – LCD projectors, sound or
PA systems - giving you the power to deliver the perfect presentation.
In today’s world, connections are important, complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel, and all
meeting rooms have up to 40Mb of broadband ready**.
Needing to communicate with multiple locations around the world can create additional challenges and
extra expense, our Somerset and Trafalgar boardrooms are fitted with 52” plasma screens and are
video conference ready.
We take pride in the service we deliver, every event is managed by a dedicated event planner who will
guide you through the planning stages. Our event service team are on hand to assist once you are at the
hotel, ensuring a smooth running and successful event.

There is no better back drop for any dining experience
than being in the heart of London’s West End.
At the Strand Palace Hotel, we bring the magic of
Theatreland to your table.
Entering down the original Art Deco marble stair case,
your guests will know they are set for an experience in
style. Our banqueting suites are designed to host
between 10 and 200 guests from intimate private
dining to corporate dinners and gala evenings, or up
to 400 guests for a cocktail reception*.
Entice your guests with menus carefully created by
our passionate and experienced brigade of chefs, or
for that extra special occasion our team will create
menus bespoke to your event.
Our special event planning team will work with you to
guide you through the intricate details of your event,
with experience they are on hand to advise on those
extra special touches which will make your event a
memorable occasion.
