The <strong>Strand</strong> <strong>Palace</strong> <strong>Hotel</strong> has a<br />

fascinating history that dates back<br />

to 1907 when J. Lyons & Co were<br />

given permission to build a “Grand<br />

<strong>Hotel</strong>” in the prominent Westminster<br />

thoroughfare of the <strong>Strand</strong>.<br />

Two years later in 1909, the <strong>Strand</strong><br />

<strong>Palace</strong> <strong>Hotel</strong> opened.<br />

In the 1920’s, Lyons and Co bought the<br />

adjoining Haxells family hotel in order to<br />

expand and improve the <strong>Strand</strong> hotel.<br />

After extensive redevelopment, the hotel<br />

re-opened in 1928 and became an<br />

‘Art Deco Showcase’.<br />

Some of these original features can still<br />

be found today at the entrance to <strong>our</strong><br />

Meetings & Events Centre.<br />

Whether you are looking to hold a one-to-one meeting, team briefing, board meeting, training seminar or<br />

a large conference, the <strong>Strand</strong> Meetings and Events collection of contemporary suites are designed to<br />

accommodate events of any nature.<br />

The largest event space is the Exeter suite, which can accommodate up to 250 delegates* with the ability<br />

to split into two separate rooms. With an additional seven meeting rooms all on one level, delivering a<br />

logistical solution to the largest of events.<br />

Our fully refurbished suites are fitted with the latest audio visual technology** – LCD projectors, sound or<br />

PA systems - giving you the power to deliver the perfect presentation.<br />

In today’s world, connections are important, complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel, and all<br />

meeting rooms have up to 40Mb of broadband ready**.<br />

Needing to communicate with multiple locations around the world can create additional challenges and<br />

extra expense, <strong>our</strong> Somerset and Trafalgar boardrooms are fitted with 52” plasma screens and are<br />

video conference ready.<br />

We take pride in the service we deliver, every event is managed by a dedicated event planner who will<br />

guide you through the planning stages. Our event service team are on hand to assist once you are at the<br />

hotel, ensuring a smooth running and successful event.<br />

There is no better back drop for any dining experience<br />

than being in the heart of London’s West End.<br />

At the <strong>Strand</strong> <strong>Palace</strong> <strong>Hotel</strong>, we bring the magic of<br />

Theatreland to y<strong>our</strong> table.<br />

Entering down the original Art Deco marble stair case,<br />

y<strong>our</strong> guests will know they are set for an experience in<br />

style. Our banqueting suites are designed to host<br />

between 10 and 200 guests from intimate private<br />

dining to corporate dinners and gala evenings, or up<br />

to 400 guests for a cocktail reception*.<br />

Entice y<strong>our</strong> guests with menus carefully created by<br />

<strong>our</strong> passionate and experienced brigade of chefs, or<br />

for that extra special occasion <strong>our</strong> team will create<br />

menus bespoke to y<strong>our</strong> event.<br />

with experience they are on hand to advise on those<br />
