Stan Shih is an independent director. He is the Group Chairman of iD SoftCapital and a director of Acer, BenQ and Wistron. He is also<br />
co-founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Acer Group. He served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Acer Group from 1976 to<br />
<strong>20</strong>04. Mr. Shih holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and an honorary Ph.D. in electrical engineering from National Chiao Tung<br />
University. He also holds an honorary doctoral degree in technology from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, an honorary fellowship from<br />
the University of Wales and an honorary doctoral degree in international law from the American Graduate School of International<br />
Management.<br />
Sir Peter Leahy Bonfield is an independent director. Sir Peter Bonfield was the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Executive<br />
Committee of British Telecommunications from January 2, 1996 to January 31, <strong>20</strong>02. He is currently the non-executive director and Chairman<br />
of the Board of Directors of NXP Semiconductor in the Netherlands. He is also a director of L.M. Ericsson in Sweden, Mentor Graphics<br />
Corporation Inc. in U.S., Sony Corporation in Japan and Actis Capital LLP in London. He is a member of the Sony Corporation Advisory<br />
Board, The Longreach Group Advisory Board, and New Venture Partners LLP Advisory Board. He is the Vice President of the British Quality<br />
Foundation and Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering. He holds an honors degree in engineering from Longhborough University.<br />
Thomas J. Engibous is an independent director. He joined Texas Instruments (“TI”) in 1976 and served there until retirement in <strong>20</strong>08.<br />
During his 32-year career at TI, his duties included Chairman from <strong>20</strong>04 to <strong>20</strong>08, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer from 1998<br />
to <strong>20</strong>04, President and Chief Executive Officer from 1996 to 1998 and Executive Vice President and President of the company’s<br />
Semiconductor Group from 1993 to 1996. Mr. Engibous currently serves as a director of J.C. Penney Company Inc., Trustee of the<br />
Southwestern Medical Foundation, and a member of the Business Council. He holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering and an<br />
honorary doctorate in engineering from Purdue University.<br />
Rick Tsai is a director and President of New Businesses organization. Dr. Tsai was the President and Chief Executive Officer from<br />
July <strong>20</strong>05 to June 11, <strong>20</strong>09 and was the President and Chief Operating Officer from August <strong>20</strong>01 to June <strong>20</strong>05. He was Executive Vice<br />
President of Worldwide Marketing and Sales from September <strong>20</strong>00 to August <strong>20</strong>01. Prior to that, he served as our Executive Vice President of<br />
Operations. He also served as the President of Vanguard from 1999 to <strong>20</strong>00. He joined us in 1989 as Deputy Director of our Fab 2 operations.<br />
He holds a Ph.D. in material science from Cornell University.<br />
Stephen T. Tso is our Senior Vice President of Information Technology, Material Management and Risk Management and Chief<br />
Information Officer. He joined us as Vice President of Research and Development in December 1996. Prior to that, he was General Manager of<br />
Metal CVD Products in Applied Materials. He was assigned as the President of WaferTech in November <strong>20</strong>01. Dr. Tso holds a Ph.D. in<br />
material science and engineering from University of California, Berkeley.<br />
Shang-yi Chiang re-joined us as Senior Vice President of Research and Development in September <strong>20</strong>09. He was also Chairman of<br />
VisEra Technologies Company and Xintec Inc. from August <strong>20</strong>06 to July <strong>20</strong>10. He was Senior Vice President of Research and Development<br />
from November <strong>20</strong>00 to August <strong>20</strong>06. He joined us as Vice President of Research and Development in 1997. Prior to that, he worked at<br />
Hewlett Packard. Dr. Chiang holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.<br />
Mark Liu is our Senior Vice President of Operations. Prior to that he was our Senior Vice President of Advanced Technology Business<br />
from March <strong>20</strong>08 to October <strong>20</strong>09. From January <strong>20</strong>02 to March <strong>20</strong>08, he was Senior Vice President of Operations II. He was Vice President<br />
of our Fab 8 and Fab 12 Sites Operations from July <strong>20</strong>00 to January <strong>20</strong>02 and Vice President of South Sites Operations from 1999 to<br />
July <strong>20</strong>00. Dr. Liu joined us in 1993 and held the positions as Director of Fab 3 Operations and Senior Director of South Sites Operations. He<br />
holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from University of California, Berkeley.<br />
C.C. Wei is our Senior Vice President of Business Development. From March <strong>20</strong>08 to October <strong>20</strong>09, he was Senior Vice President of<br />
Mainstream Technology Business. From January <strong>20</strong>02 to March <strong>20</strong>08, Dr. Wei was Senior Vice President of Operations I. He was Vice<br />
President of South Sites Operations from April <strong>20</strong>00 to January <strong>20</strong>02 and Vice President of North Sites Operations from February 1998 to<br />
April <strong>20</strong>00. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President at Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd. in Singapore starting from 1993. He<br />
holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Yale University.<br />
