WARNING:
Carlisle Tire & Wheel Company, Inc. (CT&W) trailer tires are designed and branded as ST (Special Trailer) tires.
• CT&W ST tires are designed, tested, and labeled to meet Industry Standards in accordance with Tire & Rim Association (T&RA) and
Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
• Based on industry standards published by T&RA, unless a different speed restriction is indicated on the sidewall of the tire, CT&W ST tires
are speed rated to 65 mph under normal inflation and load conditions..
• T & RA standards indicate that if an ST tire is used at speeds between 66 and 75 mph, it will be necessary to increase the cold inflation by
10 psi above the normal, recommended cold inflation pressure.
o Do not exceed the maximum pressure for the wheel.
o If the maximum pressure for the wheel prohibits increasing the psi, the max speed must be restricted to 65 mph.
o Cold inflation pressure must not exceed 10 psi beyond the inflation specified for the maximum load of the tire.
• T& RA standards indicate that if an ST tire is used at speeds between 76 and 85 mph, it will be necessary to increase the cold inflation
by 10 psi above the normal recommended cold inflation pressure. It should be noted, however, that increasing the cold inflation psi and
operating at the speeds indicated, would result in decreasing the load capacity of the tire by 10%.
o Do not exceed the maximum pressure for the wheel.
o If the maximum pressure for the wheel prohibits increasing the psi, the max speed must be restricted to 65 mph.
o Cold inflation pressure must not exceed 10 psi beyond the inflation specified for the maximum load of the tire.
• Drivers should always obey posted speed limits and reduce speeds when necessary based on vehicle, road, weather or traffic conditions.
• Trailer tires should be operated at inflation pressures that are specified by the trailer manufacturer. The trailer manufacturer’s inflation
information can typically be located in the owners manual, tire information placard or on the vehicle certification label, which should be
located on the forward left side of the trailer.
• Tire pressures should be checked monthly, or daily during trips.
• Never exceed the maximum load capacity for tires or trailers.
