ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA & ISTITUTO MARANGONI: FOCUS MENSWEAR
For the occasion of the Centenary of Ermenegildo Zegna and for the 75th Anniversary of Istituto Marangoni,
these two-leading brands match their professional expertise signing an important partnership and setting up
a new special Master in Menswear.
The Ermenegildo Zegna Group is the world’s leading brand in luxury menswear and has always been
focused on training young talents. This sense of mentoring perfectly relates to Istituto Marangoni’s important
role in educating creative profiles. For 75 years, Istituto Marangoni has aimed at meeting fashion companies’
needs and predicting their evolution.
The new programme will provide a deep and detailed analysis of the menswear domain, articulated into all
different steps of production; from the collection concept to its set up and from production realization to its
distribution.
An important asset of the new Master will be the presence of teachers, managers, and designers from the
Ermenegildo Zegna Group, who will transfer their skills and knowledge to the students, leaving them key
information on three areas: Product, Style and Retailing.
“We are sure this innovative project, that smartly merges the conventional education programs with the world
class Ermenegildo Zegna’s manager skills, will be the best choice for young talents facing the job market–
comments Roberto Riccio, Istituto Marangoni’s General Director.
The Master in Menswear will provide students with skills in drawing, both freehand and digital techniques,
and modeling in order to widen their knowledge of professional technique to produce both simple and
structured clothes. Also, the Master will deepen topics concerning product management and flow
administration.
“Zegna has always been conscious of the importance of young talents training, believing this type of
teaching should not be only theory based, but also it requires significant practical experience. For this reason
the link between our tradition in menswear and our commitment with future generations, naturally goes along
with Istituto Marangoni’s core mission.
Ermenegildo Zegna is proud to back such a quality project as the Master in Menswear and to work together
with Istituto Marangoni in preparing the next menswear designers.” says Benedetta Zegna, Ermenegildo
Zegna’s Talent Manager.
The Master will start on October 18th, 2010 and it will take place, for 8 month, exclusively in Milan Campus
with an attendance of 2h30 courses for 7 day a week. The Master will be opened to a maximum of 20
students and all courses will be taught in Italian with a simultaneous English translation for foreign students.
The aim of the Master is to train dynamic professionals with a strong knowledge in menswear, connoisseurs
of the fashion world and market processes, and with the ability to perfectly balance style with product, and
creativity with marketing.
