Dear Parents and Caregivers
Thank you to Board of
Trustee Members
The Board election has now been
held. Congratulations to these
parents who have been elected:
Gail Dickson, Sarah Timmis, Rob
Berg, Megan Gowans, Travis White
and Francois Smith. Christine Allaker
has also been elected as the staff
representative. We are very grateful
that these people are prepared to
contribute to the governance of our
school.
The Board of Trustees also includes
myself, Annie Doherty, as the
Principal.
We also want to express our thanks
to our Board members who are
stepping down from the elected
board, but continue to support our
school in a number of ways. This
includes Alison Carswell, Marco Van
Gelderen, Trevor Milford and Nikki
Joubert who was our previous staff

This week we will look at what it
means to be Principled.
To become principled, students strive
to act with integrity and honesty and
a strong sense of fairness, justice
and respect for the dignity of the
individual, groups and communities.
They take responsibility for their own
actions and the consequences that
accompany them.
Activities for Parents:
• Involve your child in
deciding on the rules for a
game or activity and then
ensure that they stick to the
ones that have been
decided upon.
• Encourage your child to play
games that involve teams.
Discuss with your child the
qualities of a team player.
What sort of person would
they want on their team
• When your child wins a
game, insist that he or she is
a well-mannered winner.
They might want to thank
their opponent or shake
hands with them if that is
appropriate.
• When playing a game, don’t
change the rules or let your
child win.
• Being a gracious loser is just
as important as being a
good winner.

MATH- A -THON
REMINDER!
We hope you are all having fun
learning your basic facts, with lots of
games at home.
We have been trying hard at school!
Thank you for returning the
Sponsorship Forms and approaching
all your very generous sponsors.
The Math-A-Thon will be held on
Monday 10th June and the results will
be written on your Sponsorship Form
and returned home. Then your
children can start collecting the
sponsorship money.
Please place the Sponsorship money
in an envelope with the Sponsorship
Form and make sure that your child's
name and class and amount
collected are written on the envelope.
Then return it to the class teacher.

Northern Bays Arts
Festival
Primary Schools in the Northern Bays
area are presenting a fabulous show
at the Bruce Mason Centre on
Wednesday 26 th June at 7pm. Our
school has a group performing. There
will be fabulous colour, dance, song
and music from almost 400 students
from 13 schools. Students have been
rehearsing and getting ready to
perform for you. Tickets will sell out
fast for this single show. Tickets now
on sale. Don’t miss out!
Wet Weather
ASB will donate $250 to our school
for every teacher or parent who
draws down a loan of $150,000 or
more.
