stop on the ancient silk road.<br />
Sri Lanka is the oldest<br />
continually Buddhist<br />
country. The Veda people<br />
were aboriginals or natives<br />
of Sri Lanka.<br />
"Sri Lanka was formerly<br />
known as Ceylon and they<br />
had a river and canal system<br />
they used for transportation,<br />
fishing and living. The<br />
houses were usually made<br />
from thatch and straws and<br />
leaves to keep the<br />
temperatures low."<br />
