SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL
CERTIFICATION BY CII
“CII - SCM Pro”
1. Eligibility: Bachelor‟s degree with relevant work experience of 3 years or
B.E/B.Tech/MBA/ME/M.Tech with 2+yrs of work experience. Eligibility application
form is given at the end.
2. Type of Examination: Multiple Choice Questions – Online. Registrants have to
go to our test centers and take up the examination. (Aptech‟s ATTEST centers)
3. Frequency of Examination: Twice in a Year- One in March and One in
September. Our next examination is on 6 th Sep- 2014 and more exams would be
during March- 2015
4. Number of Questions : 200
5. Duration of Examination : 3 hours
6. Certifying Score : 140
7. Rigor level: 33% questions will be „difficult‟, 33% will be moderate, 33% will be
easy.
8. Certification Fees : Rs 12,000 per take.
Under early bird offer (for first 100 participants), a discounted fee is applicable.
(Maximum discount available would be Rs 2,000) Payment can be made by
Demand Draft, drawn in favor of “Confederation of Indian Industry” payable at
Chennai and mailed to the address:

9. Reference Material: Rs.2000 for the reference material if bought without
registering for the examination. Payment can be made as above in point 8. .
10. Validity: The certification is Valid for 4 Years.
11. Renewal: The candidates can take up „renewal‟ examination to retain the
Certification Status. After TWO successive renewals, they will be certified for life
time.
12. Modules :
Module 1 : Supply Chain Management Essentials : Basic Concepts, Definition,
Logistics Vs. Supply Chain management, Supply chain strategy for Competitive
Advantage, advantages of networking, other organizations in Supply Chain,
Structure of Supply Chain, Green Supply Chains, Supply Chain performance
Measures.
Module 2 : Competitive drivers of Supply Chain : Demand Planning &
Forecasting – Types, accuracy , Procurement – Procurement Cycle, Vendor
selection, rating , Inventory- types, management techniques, safety stock
calculation, Planning - materials management, MS/MRP. Distribution- Warehouse
types, Logistics & transportation Management
Module 3: Customer Relationship management & Supplier Relationship
Management: Order fulfilling, customer satisfaction measurement, SRM, Strategic
Sourcing, off shoring, outsourcing, managing 3 PL service providers
Module 4: Role of Information Technology in Managing Supply Chain
effectively: Planning: ERP, E business and E procurement, Supply chain
coordination & Integration. Communication: EDI, WMS, TMS, Tracing & Tracking:
Barcodes, RFID, GPS, cloud computing, SAAS models

Module 5: Global Supply Chain Management: Globalization, EXIM Procedures,
Incoterms, LC mechanism, Risk and Insurance, Packaging & labeling issues.
Additional Module: Business Logistics –India specific: taxation structure and
implications. This module is for knowledge purpose only.
13. Weightage : The weightage of modules will be decided by the committee,
comprising of academia and Industry experts
14. Relevant Work experience:
CII defines “relevant work experience” as work that is directly connected to some aspect
of the supply chain. This can include Material Management, production Planning &
Control, transportation & logistics, procurement/purchasing, manufacturing, warehousing,
distribution, customer service, software solution design & support and other areas that
are part of supply chain of any Industry or sector.
15. SCM Pro Registration Process:
a. Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements will send the completely filled in
application form on the 5 th &6 th pages of this document, with proof of qualification
and experience in hardcopy. Photostat copies of Degree certificate duly self
attested and experience certificate(s) are to be attached along with application
form.
b. CII will review all applications and candidates will be notified about the eligibility
through Email, within five working days.
c. After receiving this confirmation mail, Candidates have to send the examination
fee by DD – Please refer point 8 above for payment.
d. Candidates have to keep a photocopy of their application.

e. After receiving the DD, the reference material set - containing 5 books will be
couriered to the address given in the application form, within Five days. A
registration number will be allotted.
f. The links for viewing recorded sessions will be sent to registrants by Email.
g. Notifications regarding mock examination, ATTEST Centre locations, Final
examination will be sent through Emails.
h. Reference material on additional module “Indirect Taxation structure and
implications on SCM” will be sent in pdf format by Email.
i. List of Aptech‟s ATTEST centers with the addresses will be sent to the
registrants. The registrants can block a center of their choice for appearing for
Mock & Final examination. Close to 50 centers, in different parts of the country is
available for our examination.
j. Registrants will be given hall tickets in soft form. They need to take the print out
and go to the test center for taking up the mock examination, subsequently final
examination on 6 th September 2014.
k. “CII reserves the right to postpone or cancel the training program/ examination for
the reasons beyond our control”.
