FREE <strong>Grant</strong> <strong>Classes</strong><br />
January - June 2011<br />
The <strong>South</strong> <strong>Carolina</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> Academy is offering free classes funded through the National <strong>Fire</strong><br />
Academy State Training <strong>Grant</strong> and the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Carolina</strong> Emergency Management Division.<br />
These free grant courses are open to all S.C. fire, rescue, police and EMS personnel. Preregistration<br />
is required <strong>for</strong> all <strong>Fire</strong> Academy programs.<br />
The NFA grant courses are identified in the <strong>Public</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> <strong>Service</strong> Course Dates brochure with a<br />
black diamond () and the SCEMD grant courses are identified with a black triangle ().<br />

REGISTRATION:<br />
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Early registration is the best way to gain<br />
acceptance into a course.<br />
Registration <strong>for</strong>ms may be downloaded from the <strong>Fire</strong> Academy Web site www.scfa.state.sc.us.<br />
Forms must be received at least 30 days prior to the start of the course. Telephone<br />
registration is not available however, a registrant may fax a completed <strong>for</strong>m to the number listed<br />
below.<br />
Prior to submission to the <strong>Fire</strong> Academy, the registration <strong>for</strong>m requires the signature of the fire<br />
chief or department designee.<br />
Course enrollment is reviewed on the registration cut-off date. After this time, students are<br />
notified in writing of course acceptance. Courses with fewer than the minimum students may be<br />
cancelled.<br />
