W
alk into Bartlett House and you will be
welcomed by smiles and hellos. You’ll
hear everyone greeting each other by name,
asking about what’s going on in their lives. In this
intimate retirement community — one of the
smallest in the state — it’s the people who live
here and work here who really make it special.
Relationships between residents and also between residents and staff
are genuinely caring, and built on trust. This warm, homelike
atmosphere is one of the many things that set Bartlett Woods apart.
It’s the people who make it special.
Our commitment to making it possible for individuals to stay with
their friends or spouses even when they require more or less
assistance is another major facet of the Bartlett Woods difference.
When one of our apartments becomes your home, it is just that: your
home. Should you find you need more help, we will provide it right
there in your home.
A lively neighborhood of individuals from all walks of life, Bartlett
House offers you custom-tailored services, support, and safety, all at
a very reasonable cost. Everything has been designed to make it as
easy as possible for you to live well. That’s because, as a nonprofit
community guided by a volunteer board of local men and women,
Bartlett Woods is here for you, not for profit.
“I should have moved here sooner.
I didn’t realize just how much I’d love it!”
—Bill, Resident of four years
“It’s so nice knowing we won’t have to move
if we need more assistance. We enjoy every day
right here with our friends. It’s like one big happy family.”
—George & Joan, Residents of two years
economical
and
custom-tailored
for you
B
artlett Woods is one of the best values
in the state — in many cases thousands
of dollars lower per month than other
retirement communities. One reason for this
is that your monthly rent covers so much.
You’ll find the full list of included benefits,
plus many other details, in the supplemental
printed materials.
Bartlett Woods is also a leader in offering
increasing assisted-living services without
requiring you to move, and that means additional savings for you.
Unlike other retirement communities, you have the freedom here to
choose independent living, assisted living, or anything in between
while staying in the same apartment.
It’s easy to design your own personalized package.
Of course we must charge for assisted-living services, but our à la
carte menu of choices, all offered at very reasonable fees, makes it
easy and economical to design your own personalized package.
Choose just what you need, whether it is a little help with dressing or
more specialized services. If you require additional assistance in the
future, we’ll work with you, your family, and your doctor to make the
necessary arrangements while always ensuring that you are as
independent as possible. And you can count on our staff to be
entirely discreet about the help you are receiving: We value your
privacy as much as you do.
Bartlett House:
a
neighborhood
of friends
Adding greatly to the pleasures of living here are the
beautifully landscaped grounds and the distinctive,
well-planned Bartlett House. Your apartment will include a
living room, one or two bedrooms, full bathroom, a
completely applianced kitchen, and a private deck or
balcony. What will really make it your home are your favorite
furnishings, as well as treasured photos and mementos you’ll
want to show your neighbors. With friends throughout the
community, it’s easy to invite them over. And when you
prefer quiet time for resting, reading, or pursuing a hobby,
your home will be your peaceful haven.
Also nearby is the dining room, where you’ll enjoy continental breakfast at
your leisure and share the latest news over the day’s main meal, served at
midday. Most residents prepare their own supper in their apartments, but you
may also arrange for a third, lighter meal to be served in the dining room.
Invite your family to visit often, too!
The welcoming social areas and patios are popular places to gather, while our
media room is the scene of all sorts of events, including lectures and musical
performances. There’s also a fireplaced parlor, library, game room, and hair salon.
We encourage you to invite your family to visit often. All of us — both
residents and staff — enjoy getting to know them, and we find that residents’
family members become part of our extended family. You’re welcome to share
your apartment with your beloved pet, too. We love animals, just like you do.
We even have a four-legged staff member named Independence.
“I love living at Bartlett Woods!
The staff is caring, friendly, and very helpful —
they’re like old friends. If I need anything
—Louise, Resident of three years
