PROJECT BRIEF 

PROBLEM STATEMENT 

Infocom is a multinational company that builds informative sites. i.e. CellInfo.com site gives all 

the information about cell phones, LibertyElectronics.com gives information about various 

electronics products and so on. Now the company decided to develop a site sportsinfo.com 

where the user will get information related to sports. The developers in the company were 

currently working on many other projects because of which development of the sportsinfo.com 

was getting delayed. Hence the company wanted us to develop the site for them. 

SOLUTION 

The solution for the problem, mentioned in the problem part, is our website. We managed to 

create a website that provides every need of the customer. Everything is clear and doesn’t 

confuse the viewer. 

The website we made is named as Sportsinfo. It contains all information a sports lover wants 

about his favorite game(s). It is easily accessible. It contains a home page where a well designed 

jQuery news slider displays latest news after every 3-4 seconds. Then there is a welcoming 

paragraph, a slide that displays the top players of each game, a search box through which user 

can search different games. 

On the Games page there are a navigation boxes for games, clicking on a sport takes you to that 

particular sport’s information. 

Then there is a contact us page, where user has a variety of options to contact the website 

managers and owners. 

On every single page there is a menu bar which displays the names of all the included sports, 

which makes it even easier for the user to surf through the games.

PROJECT SCOPE & REQUIREMENTS 

SportsInfo.com needed to be constructed considering following requirements: 

1. Home page with suitable logo. 

2. A menu which includes all the functions implemented in the site. 

3. The site that provides the information about following sports: 

a. Football 

b. Judo 

c. Tennis 

d. Motorcycle Racing 

e. Volleyball 

f. Golf 

g. Chess 

h. Billiards 

i. Badminton 

j. Swimming 

k. Athletics. 

l. Cricket (additional) 

The information about a particular sport includes: 

a. How many players play the game 

b. Strategy of the game. 

c. Is it a team game 

d. Rules of the game. 

e. Some important facts about the game (when was the game invented, any special 

tournament like World cup / Wimbledon is played etc). 

f. Statistics/ records.

g. Images of the players, clicking on which the detailed information about that player is 

displayed. 

h. Which countries play this game 

4. The user is able to search a particular sport. 

5. The Guestbook is maintained as an additional feature just to keep information about the 

users that visited the site. Guestbook information includes name, email, date of visit, 

address, comment about the site, whether visitor will recommend the site to others or not 

etc. Also the visitor can rate the site (rating levels 1-Excellent, 2-Good, 3-Average, 4-Poor). 

6. An ‘About Us’ page is provided which introduces the company. 

7. There is a “Contact Us” page which has the Address of the Company and the mail address 

which when clicked invokes the local mail client from where they can send an email. 

8. The site has appropriate look and feel suitable to company’s reputation and status.

A minimum computer system that will help you access all the tools in the courses is a 

Pentium 166 or better

PROJECT PLAN 

CORE STRENGTH 

1. Our strength is the design of our web page, it has a professional look & feel. User can 

access any page of our website within 3 Clicks. 

2. We have a unique MENU which contains various pages of our website. 

3. We have special type of Contact US Page which contains not only the contact 

information, but a form, by filling which, the user can contact directly. Due to this 

customer will can contact us easily. 

4. We have developed the whole website on DIVs. Tables are used only for tabular form of 

data which had to be entered in our website 

5. Our Website is browser compatible. We have tested our website on all A-Grade 

Browsers of Yahoo. 

6. According to us we are the one who have entered information in bulk amount for giving 

the user maximum information about the cars. 

Note: It is highly recommended to view the website on a large screen resolution, as 

we have created it on the standard web size, i.e. 1050px of width.

REFERENCES 

We have our own theme, but data collection is a major part of creating a website we were 

inspired with many website but www.uefa.com was awesome, we took a lot of info & pictures 

from this website. Data has been collected mostly from www.wikipedia.org.
