It is estimated that one in three children born after the<br />
year 2000 in the US will develop diabetes.<br />
The continual rise in diabetes prevalence tells us that the<br />
numbers alone are not speaking loud enough. Projects<br />
under the Young Voices umbrella give young people with<br />
diabetes a platform from which to spread awareness<br />
about diabetes to their peers, while the DAWN Youth<br />
programme works to improve health and quality of life<br />
for children and young people with diabetes.<br />
