<strong>SPONSORSHIP</strong> <strong>PROPOSAL</strong><br />
Tourism is a major part of the economy of North East England. It is worth £3.8 Billion to the local<br />
economy, employing 60,775 people. The North East has seen the number of overnight visitors rise by<br />
6% since 2003 to 8.3 million.<br />
Each year the North East England Tourism Awards showcase the best that tourism has to offer in our<br />
region. The wide range of categories reflect the quality, performance and innovation of our tourism<br />
sector and give businesses the chance to show how they stand out from the crowd.<br />
The awards form the regional heat of the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence and winners go on to<br />
take their place in the national finals to compete alongside the cream of UK tourism.<br />

Winning is a huge accolade and businesses benefit from increased exposure<br />

shortlisted for the national finals, Enjoy England - Awards for Excellence.<br />
The Event<br />
The event will be a gala presentation evening at Ramside Hall, Durham on Tuesday<br />
12th October 2010. Guests would include finalists, sponsors, regional media and paying<br />
guests making this event a valuable networking opportunity. We anticipate around 350<br />
guests for the event.<br />

Sponsor Benefits / Opportunities<br />
Association with a major regional awards campaign attracting attention from a wide age<br />
range. Some print material associated with the award scheme and the award presentation<br />
ceremony will carry the sponsor’s logo, including:-<br />
• The menu card handed out to guests on the night & the entry forms.<br />
• Fortnightly editorial coverage for 8 week period to feature stories on entries from<br />
various categories, this will include at least one piece to feature the individual<br />
sponsor logo & comments.<br />
• All in-paper adverts will carry the award logo and sponsor logo. These will appear at<br />
least once a week in The Journal, Evening Gazette and other Trinity Mirror titles during<br />
the table sales period.<br />
• A Special 20-page awards supplement will focus upon the awards scheme in depth.<br />
This will include profiles on the categories and the short-listed finalists.<br />
• The sponsor will receive a half-page ad in the supplement for their exclusive use.<br />
• An award presentation evening where the winners will be announced will be held at<br />
Ramside Hall, Durham. The sponsor will have the opportunity to speak and present<br />
their category.<br />

• Link from journallive to sponsor web page for the duration of the event coverage.<br />
