LIGHTING THE CAMPFIRE
B
A
C
1. Attach POL/QCC (A) to tank valve. Make sure you
have a good seal.
2. Close shut off valve (B) by turning clockwise.
3. Open tank valve (C); check for leaks.
Before turning gas on, apply a solution of soapy water
to all hose connections. If bubbles appear when gas is
turned on, shut off gas supply and tighten connections
where bubbles appear. Repeat as necessary.
Wait 5 min. before relighting, if campfire does not light.
Place lighter flame on burner and slowly open the campfire shut off valve (B), it will take a few seconds for
the line to purge the air. Once the purging is complete the burner will light, then adjust the shut off valve (B)
for desired fire height.
Campfire Must Be Lit Manually
TURNING THE CAMPFIRE OFF
1. Shut the gas off at the tank (C) then let the fire go out.
2. Turn the shut off valve (B) to the off position.
3. Let the campfire cool before touching or wrapping the hose around the pedestal and replacing the canister
on top.
Troubleshooting
R
TROUBLESHOOTING LOW FLAME HEIGHT
I lit my Campfire In A Can and the fire does not seem to go high anymore. What could cause
1. this to happen
1.
The campfire shut off valve (B) was
not shut off when the propane tank
valve was opened. This will cause
the POL/QCC (A) fitting to automatically restrict
propane flow to the campfire. This is a safety
feature.
2.
The second reason could be that the
ball inside the POL/QCC valve has
become stuck, and is not allowing
an unrestricted flow of gas to your campfire.
SOLUTION 1.
Turn gas off at propane tank. Remove POL/QCC (A)
connection from tank, shut off campfire shut off valve
(B), then follow proper propane lighting procedure.
Attach POL/QCC to tank valve, make sure you have
a good seal. Close shut off valve by turning clockwise.
Open tank valve. If problem persists, please try A.2.
SOLUTION 2.
Give the POL/QCC a hard tap on a hard surface to
loosen the ball. Then reconnect to see if this has solved
the problem. If problem persists, please try A.3.
POL/QCC
Ball
3.
You may have bugs! Great big,
humongous, small bugs like ants,
spiders, etc. Sometimes they will
find their way into the campfire during storage and
end up making a nest in the inner parts of the gas
fittings.
SOLUTION 3.
Undo the fittings and remove them. Visually check
for cobwebs, insects or debris and remove if necessary.
Here are some actual examples:
Troubleshooting
R
TROUBLESHOOTING LOW FLAME HEIGHT
2.
I have been running my campfire for a while, and all of a sudden I have a low flame, and I`m
not out of propane. What could cause this
Your regulator may be freezing up! There are 2 possible reasons that a propane regulator may
freeze up.
1.
When your propane tank was filled,
it may have been overfilled. Liquid
propane may be going directly
into your regulator causing it to freeze up. All
propane tanks can be overfilled, even those with an
automatic shut off feature.
2.
The propane tank you are using may
be too small. The air space inside
the tank may not be large enough
to allow the liquid propane to quickly change from
a liquid to a gas. If this happens, the liquid propane
will go into the regulator, causing it to freeze.
SOLUTION 1.
To have the excess propane removed, take your tank to
a commercial propane supplier.
SOLUTION 2.
This can be overcome sometimes by reducing the size
of your fire, or by using a 20 lb. tank or larger.
FIRE GLASS
CLEANING THE FIRE GLASS Allow fire glass to cool before handling. Collect the fire glass and place
gently into a container of soapy water. Gently rub fire glass to remove any carbon build up. Remove fire glass
from soapy water, rinse in clean water to remove any excess soap residue. Lay the fire glass in a single layer on
a soft cloth to dry. When dry, return fire glass to your Campfire In A Can.
We suggest you wear gloves when cleaning fire glass
LOG SET
CLEANING THE LOG SET Carbon (soot) should be cleaned off the surface of the logs periodically to
prevent excessive build up. To clean the logs, be sure the fire is out, the gas supply is turned off and the logs
are cool to the touch. Carbon build up can be removed by using The Cleaning Kit or by using a dry, medium
soft bristle brush. Take care while cleaning the logs as they can become damaged if mishandled. Care should
be taken to dispose of the carbon and cleaning materials properly. Keep away from clothing and outdoor
furniture.
Wear gloves when cleaning log set
Campfire logs should never be washed with water
AIR INTAKE SLEEVE
The air intake sleeve should be fully open and the set screw tightened to
stop movement.
CANISTER TOP AS A PROPANE TANK SUPPORT
When the canister top is placed upside down, a 20 lb. propane tank can
be placed inside, making it a propane tank support system.
CAUTION Propane tank may damage canister top if not placed
inside gently.
Attaching the Campfire
to a Quick Disconnect
R
Determine if the quick disconnect you are hooking up to on your RV is high pressure or low pressure. If there
are no propane lines before the propane regulator, then the quick disconnect on your RV is low pressure. If
there are propane lines before the regulator, your quick disconnect could be high or low pressure. Contact the
manufacturer of your RV to find out which one it is.
Helpful Hints
1. When purchasing your quick disconnect parts, make sure that they are compatible with the quick
disconnect parts on your RV.
2. Buy a complete quick disconnect assembly, so you can hook the female part to the regulator you are
going to remove from the Campfire In A Can.
3. Determine if the quick disconnect you are hooking up to on your RV is high pressure or low pressure.
4. Always use gas line silicone tape on all fittings or a gas line approved paste.
5. Always check for gas leaks by covering joints with a mild solution of soap and water then pressurizing the
propane line. Check for bubbles. If you see bubbles, tighten the fittings and repeat until no more
bubbles are seen.
Types of Quick Disconnects
1. With a built in safety shut off valve. 2. Without a safety shut off valve.
