On behalf of the Canadian Council of Fire Marshals / Fire
Commissioners, I would like to welcome the Canadian
Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) and the Canadian Council of
Fire Marshal and Fire Commissioners (CCFM/FC) delegates
to 2011 Fire-Rescue Canada, Calgary, Alberta.
I also want to take this opportunity to express my deepest
appreciation to the City of Calgary, the Calgary Fire
Department, members of the organizing committee and the
Alberta Fire Commissioner’s Office for “Taking the Lead”, and
their work with the hosting of the 103rd CAFC Conference.
The committee deployed every effort to make your stay in Calgary a satisfying and unforgettable experience.
I am very pleased to see both, the CAFC and CCFM/FC, having their annual Convention in the City of Calgary.
Once again, the executives of both Associations will meet jointly to share their mutual concerns and objectives
in providing fire services in Canada.
I encourage delegates to participate in the presentations of the outstanding guest speakers and break-out session
speakers. These speakers will share their knowledge and many years of expertise as they “took the lead”
in their respective fields.
I also encourage CAFC members to take time to network with your peers and members of the CCFM/FC from
across Canada and to visit the suppliers that will showcase their new products and technologies.

CollaBoRatioN – Canadian CBRNE First Responders Conference
CollaBoRatioN is an annual conference for individuals working with Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear
and Explosive (CBRNE) response teams. Conference participants are often front-line emergency services workers.
Most participants will have attended the Canadian Emergency Management College in Ottawa and are
looking to stay on top of new developments and gain further knowledge and skills in the CBRNE area.
In partnership with the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) the Calgary Fire Department is looking
forward to being part of the 2011 CAFC conference being held in Calgary from September 25 – 28, 2011.
We are excited about the partnership and being part of the educational track of the 2011 CAFC conference.
We thank you for your understanding and continued support and look forward to seeing you at CollaBoRatioN 2011.
