<strong>Webmaster</strong><br />

The <strong>Webmaster</strong> is a full-time position at our office in Amherst, Massachusetts. This position will facilitate<br />

innovative and effective interactive online communication platforms, manage content, conceive, develop, and<br />

design web and print products such as websites, databases, blogs, and newsletters. The <strong>Webmaster</strong> will also<br />

be responsible for performing day-to-day site maintenance on websites, donor database management,<br />

technical support and troubleshooting. This position reports to the Director of Operations.<br />

Primary Responsibilities:<br />

• Maintain and develop I/T infrastructure<br />

• Troubleshooting minor to intermediate technical problems for individual users regarding their<br />

machines or software<br />

• Identifying and escalating more complex technical problems to I/T vendor or ISP provider<br />

• Service and maintain office machines<br />

• Administer the email system (Google Apps) for the organization<br />

• Maintain the websites (via Wordpress and Dreamweaver)<br />

• Designing the newsletters and annual reports<br />

• Graphic design for conferences, print and electronic media<br />

• Coordinate A/V for conferences<br />

• Blog and/or take photos at conferences/events<br />

• Post-production editing and posting of relevant photos, Powerpoints and videos<br />

• Update and monitor social media relationships for the organization (Facebook, Twitter, Youtube)<br />

• Creating and report on various surveys via Surveymonkey<br />

• Manage registration vendors and software<br />

• Querying and reporting on donors and event participation in eTapestry<br />

• Creating HTML-rich emails to send out to the eTapestry constituency<br />

• Proofreading all copy that will get to an external audience (emails, brochures, etc.)<br />

• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned and needed<br />

This position has room for growth, and the employee should have the flexibility and willingness to take on<br />

additional projects and responsibilities.<br />

Knowledge/Skills and Experience:<br />

• Fluent in both PC and Mac OS platforms<br />

• Proficient in the following software and technical programs: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe<br />

Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign or Quark, eTapestry, HTML, Wordpress, Content


Management Systems, CSS, remote desktop software, Audacity (audio manipulation software),<br />

Video editing software<br />

• Reliable and dependable with excellent follow through on tasks<br />

• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail<br />

• Able to maintain strict confidentiality<br />

• Ability to interact with a variety of diverse people, enjoys collaboration<br />

• Strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively<br />

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required<br />

• Minimum of two years of experience working as a <strong>Webmaster</strong> or comparable experience<br />

• Background or practical understanding of meditative/contemplative traditions or science –<br />

desired but not required.<br />
