Comic Relief
Next week on Friday, March 15 th , we will be
joining in with the fundraising for Comic
Relief.
This year, the children on the School Council
have selected a “Wacky Hair” theme – giving
the children chance to be creative with hair
styles.
There will also be the chance next week to
purchase red noses and on Friday we will be
having a cake sale.
I will let you know how much money we raise
for this good cause.
The Big Pedal
It has been lovely to see so many children
coming into school on their bikes and
scooters – thank you for your support with
this as part of the Big Pedal.
Mr Hayden has been entering our results
onto the national database and at the
moment it looks like we are in third place in
Luton.

Dear Parents,
This has been a very busy week in school, with
some lovely work going on in all the year
groups.
I hope that this week’s newsletter and
curriculum information from year leaders will
give you all some idea of the rich experiences
on offer to the children.

School Sport
There have been some schools sports events
I would like to share with you over the last
couple of weeks.
Boys from Year 5 have represented the
school in a five a side tournament at
Playfootball. Net – which they found both
enjoyable and challenging.
This week, children from our after school
Dodgeball Club took part in a tournament at
Inspire. The team did very well, managing to
reach the semi finals. Thank you to Miss
Wallace for her efforts with the squad and
to Rob who teaches the children.
Children from Year 5 have also taken part in
a games event at Icknield High School.
As always I am very pleased that we can
offer the children the opportunity to take
part in a range of sports and to compete
against other schools.
The Year 6 Netball team’s match against
Barnfield Moorlands was postponed
yesterday because of the weather.
School Visits
This week, we have had a number of school
visits taking place which the children have
greatly enjoyed.
Children from Year 4 have had a very
worthwhile visit to the Hindu Mandir in North
London as part of the RE work. The children
were very impressed with the building and I
was pleased with the reports of their good
behaviour.
In Year 6, children have visited Dell Farm this
week for a day visit taking part in some
adventure and team building activities. Our
oldest children are working very hard in
preparation for their Key Stage 2 SATs and I
am very pleased with their commitment to the
extended learning sessions of Booster groups
and i-progress they have been making. I would
like to thank parents in Year 6 for all their
help with homework and reading – it is
certainly making the children feel more
confident and well prepared.
