PRIOR SERVICE ENLISTMENT BONUS ADDENDUM 

ARMY NATIONAL GUARD of the UNITED STATES 

For use of this form see NGR 600-7. The proponent agency is NGB-ARM-EI

PRINCIPLE PURPOSE: Used to explain and confirm obligation and to ensure that agreement to these 

conditions is a matter of record. Occasionally as a basis for non-participation 

action if requirements are not met. This form will be placed in the member’s 

personnel record.

Voluntary; Disclosure of your SSN is voluntary; however, if not provided you will 

not be enlisted/reenlisted. 

----------------------------------------------------SECTION I - GENERAL------------------------------------------------------- 

The enlisting official will explain these SRIP requirements. One copy will be attached to the DD Form 4 

and listed as Annex X and a copy will be given to the Soldier. 

---------------------------------------------------SECTION II - ELIGIBILITY--------------------------------------------- 

Upon my enlistment in the Army National Guard of the United States, I am eligible for a Prior Service 

Enlistment Bonus under the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP) if I meet the following criteria 

(Initial as appropriate): 

1. I have completed not more than 16 years of total military service. _____ (Initial) 

2. I am: 

a) Qualified in and hold as primary the MOS for which I am enlisting, and hold the rank and grade of, or 

am no more than one grade below, the required grade of the position _____. (Initial); 

or 

b) Not qualified in the primary MOS for which I am enlisting, but have enlisted into an MTOE unit in 

critical skill _______and agree to attend formal training and become qualified in my contracted MOS within 

24 months of my date of enlistment. I understand that my initial bonus payment will not be processed until

3. I meet all enlistment eligibility criteria set forth in NGR 600-200._____ (Initial)

9. I must be enlisting DMOSQ in a Critical UIC or DMOSQ or Non DMOSQ in a approved critical skill 

under the policy in effect at the time of my enlistment in an MTOE unit. ________(Initial) 

----------------------------------------SECTION III - BONUS AMOUNT and PAYMENTS-------------------------------- 

Incentive amount and payments will be as follows (Initial as appropriate item 1 or 2). (This is based on the 

NGB policy memorandum in effect at the time of enlistment): 

1. I will receive a total bonus in the amount as indicated below. 

a. 6 Year PSEB in a Critical UIC and or Critical Skill: I will receive a total bonus payment in the 

amount of $15,000 less taxes for a 6-year enlistment in the NGB approved critical UIC/skill of 

__________________. I certify that I am enlisting in a valid, vacant position (up to 125% strength) and 

am MOS qualified for the position as of the date of this enlistment. My bonus will be paid in two 50% 

installments. The initial installment of 50% ($7,500) will be processed for payment upon enlistment. The 

second and final installment of 50% ($7,500) will be processed for payment on the third-year anniversary 

of enlistment. ______ (Soldier initials if applicable) 

b. 6-Year PSEB in a Non Critical MTO&E Unit: I will receive a total bonus payment in the amount of 

$15,000 less taxes for a 6-year enlistment in a non-critical MTOE unit. I certify that I am enlisting in a valid, 

vacant position (up to 125% strength) and am: 

MOS qualified for the position as of the date of this enlistment________(Soldier initials if applicable). 

Not MOS qualified for the position as of the date of this enlistment and must become MOS qualified

My bonus will be paid in two 50% installments. The initial installment of 50% ($7,500) will be processed for 

payment upon enlistment (If not MOS qualified, my initial payment will not be processed until I become 

MOS qualified). The second and final installment of 50% ($7,500) will be processed for payment on the

3. First 3-Year PSEB in a Critical UIC and or Critical Skill: I will receive a total bonus payment in the 

amount of $7,500 less taxes for a 3-year enlistment in the NGB approved critical UIC/skill of 

__________________. I certify that this is my first 3-year enlistment in the Selected Reserve for which I 

accepted a cash bonus. I am enlisting in a valid, vacant position (up to 125% strength) and am MOS 

qualified for the position as of the date of this enlistment. My bonus will be paid in two 50% installments. 

The initial installment of 50% ($7,500) will be processed for payment upon enlistment. The second and 

final installment of 50% ($7,500) will be processed for payment on the third-year anniversary of enlistment.

4. Second (or subsequent) 3-Year PSEB in a Critical UIC and or Critical Skill: I will receive a total 

bonus payment in the amount of $6,000 less taxes for 3-year enlistment in the NGB approved critical 

UIC/skill of __________________. I am enlisting in a valid, vacant position (up to 125% strength) and am 

MOS qualified for the position as of the date of this enlistment. My bonus will be paid in two 50% 

installments. The initial installment of 50% ($3000) will be processed for payment upon enlistment. The 

second and final installment of 50% ($3000) will be processed for payment on the third-year anniversary of

--------------------------------------------------SECTION IV- SUSPENSION--------------------------------------------------- 

I understand I will be suspended from bonus eligibility if I: 



1. Enter a period of non-availability (placement in the Inactive National Guard [ING]). Maximum periods 

of non-availability are: 

a. One year for personal reasons. 

b. Three years for missionary obligations. 

2. Am flagged (suspension of favorable personnel action per AR 600-8-2) for an adverse action other 

than failure to maintain body composition standards or Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) failure. 

Note: Reinstatement of bonus eligibility is not guaranteed. If I regain bonus eligibility, my payments will be 

processed effective on the date the suspension is lifted or on the adjusted anniversary date of satisfactory 

creditable service. 

3. I have read Section IV and understand the contents thereof. ______ (Initial) 

------------------------------------SECTION V – TERMINATION WITHOUT RECOUPMENT-------------------------- 

I understand that I will be terminated from bonus eligibility without recoupment, if I: 

1. Accept a Military Technician position and on the effective date of my orders have served at least 6 

months of the incentive contract term. 

2. Accept a Title 10 or Title 32 AGR tour and on the effective date of my orders have served at least 6 


3. Become a participant in the SMP/ROTC advanced course or receive an ROTC scholarship and have 

served more than one year of this Selected Reserve enlisted incentive contract term. 

4. Accept a commission as an officer or appointment as a warrant officer after serving more than one 

year of this Selected Reserve enlisted incentive contract term. 

5. Do not become qualified in or awarded as primary the MOS required for my position within 24 months 

of enlistment if retraining is required. 

6. I have read Section V and understand the contents thereof. ______ (Initial) 

------------------------------------SECTION VI – TERMINATION WITH RECOUPMENT-------------------------------- 

I understand I will be terminated from bonus eligibility with recoupment, if I: 

1. Become an unsatisfactory participant by— 

a. Accumulating 9 unexcused absences within a 12-month period. Recoupment will be calculated from 

the date of the 9th unexcused absence; or— 

b. Failing to attend or complete Annual Training (AT) without Commander’s approval. Recoupment will 

be calculated from the first day of annual training. 

2. Fail to extend my enlistment for time served in the ING within 30 days after returning to my unit. 

Recoupment will be calculated from the effective date of transfer to the ING. 

3. Exceed maximum time in the ING. Recoupment will be calculated from the date of transfer into the 

ING. 

4. Accept a Military Technician position and on the effective date of my orders have not served at least 6 




5. Accept a Title 10 or Title 32 AGR tour and on the effective date of my orders have not served at least 6 


6. Become a participant in the SMP/ROTC advanced course or receive an ROTC scholarship and have 

not served more than one year of this Selected Reserve enlisted incentive contract term. 

7. Do not become qualified in or awarded as primary the MOS required for my position within 36 months 

of transfer due to unit inactivation, reorganization, or relocation. Recoupment will be calculated from the 

date of transfer. 

8. Accept a commission as an officer or an appointment as a warrant officer and have not served more 

than one year of this Selected Reserve enlisted incentive contract term. 

9. Separate from the ARNG for any reason unless due to death, injury, illness, or other impairment not 

the result of own misconduct. 

Recoupment is calculated as follows. The amount of monies that I am entitled to from the incentive is 

calculated by multiplying the number of months served satisfactorily during the term for which the 

incentive was authorized by the proportionate monthly dollar amount. The proportionate monthly dollar 

amount is determined by dividing the total authorized bonus amount by the total amount of months in the 

original contractual obligation. The amount of the bonus that I am entitled to keep, as calculated above, 

will be subtracted from the total bonus paid to date. If calculations indicate an overpayment, that amount 

will be recouped. If calculations indicate that I have earned more than I have received, I will be paid the 

difference less taxes in a final installment. 

10. I have read Section VI and understand the contents thereof. ______ (Initial)
