REVISED DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT REPORT FOR<br />
PUBLIC REVIEW AND COMMENTS<br />
A <strong>Draft</strong> Environmental Impact Assessment Report (<strong>EIR</strong>) was distributed for public review from 06<br />
March <strong>to</strong> 30 June 2010. Upon receipt of comments from Interested and Affected Parties (I&APs) a<br />
number of specialist reports and the <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> was revised.<br />
As a registered stakeholder, the Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) (GIBB) wishes <strong>to</strong><br />
advise you of the availability of the <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIA</strong> Report for review and comments from 09 May<br />
2011 <strong>to</strong> 23 June 2011 (i.e. 45 days).<br />
Enclosed herewith is (a) a summary of the <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> and (b) a Comment Sheet. The full<br />
version of the <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> (hard copy and CD) will be available at public venues, grouped per<br />
province, as detailed on Page 3 of this letter. All I&APs are invited and encouraged <strong>to</strong> attend Public<br />
Meetings where findings on the <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> will be presented and discussed. Public Meetings<br />

2. The comment period commences on 09 May 2011 and ends at the close of business on 23 June<br />

3. The hard copies of the reports that are available for viewing at the public venues may not be<br />
removed. However, the CD version may be borrowed for a maximum of two days.<br />
4. The <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> is available on the following websites:<br />

5. A Comment Sheet has been provided for your convenience. Please complete and fax or post <strong>to</strong><br />
the Public Participation Office. You may also use other written formats should you so wish and<br />
submit them by post, fax or email.<br />
6. The <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> comprises a Main Report (Volumes 1 <strong>to</strong> 2) and Appendices (Volumes 3 –<br />
24 including Site Pho<strong>to</strong>graphs, Authority Correspondence, Public Participation Documentation,<br />
Technical Criteria, Specialist Curricula Vitae and Reports, <strong>Draft</strong> Environmental Management Plan,<br />
<strong>EIA</strong> Legislative Requirements Checklist and a Peer Review Report).<br />
Comments received on the <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong> will be used <strong>to</strong> produce the Final <strong>EIR</strong>, which will then be<br />
submitted <strong>to</strong> the DEA for their consideration. A letter will be sent <strong>to</strong> all registered I&APs informing them<br />
of the Authorities’ decision.<br />
In closing, on behalf of the <strong>EIA</strong> Team, again I would like <strong>to</strong> thank everyone who has participated in the<br />
<strong>EIA</strong> process <strong>to</strong> date and those who will take further time <strong>to</strong> review the <strong>Revised</strong> <strong>Draft</strong> <strong>EIR</strong>, submit<br />
