Official Mission
The Compact’s principal mission shall be to improve coordination
between the members and to adopt a collaborative approach to the
planning, design, funding, construction, operation and maintenance
of the Commonwealth’s water-based transportation facilities aimed
principally at:
increasing mobility for people and goods within and through the
Commonwealth in a safe, secure, environmentally sustainable, and
efficient manner;
promoting and adopting administrative efficiency and program
improvement initiatives between and among transportation
agencies, authorities, and municipalities in the areas of cargo, ferry,
pleasure craft, cruise, and industry marketing, terminal operations,
and supporting the fishing industry; and
sharing best practice techniques for project implementation across
the Commonwealth.
