Assembly of Colors
Pathways School Gurgaon followed the Tradition that was put in place the first year - we celebrated a Phoolon Ki Holi with flowers and music.

Making Natural Holi
Colors
On the nineteenth of March, middle school attended an assembly
on eco-friendly and healthy Holi colors. The main presenter,
Suparna ma’am, took us through the process of creating a warm
yellow color, which was made from a variety of ingredients
which gave the powder it’s sunshiny color. From marigolds to
sandalwood oil, all the delicious aromas were amazing to smell.
We were allowed to purchase these fragrant powders in
packets. Red- made from rose petals, orange and yellow, which
possessed similar ingredients, green- spinach water, and pink, for
which they used soft flowers of the same color. Reflecting on
this, it will be nice to play Holi with no fear of rashes or colors
‘acidentally’ splashing on my eyes. These powders also don’t
have that chemical-y, powder-y smell. It smells nature, and I
honestly prefer that better.

Celebration in
Baliawas
Government
School
On 20 March 2013, Holi celebrations
were held in the premises of Government
school, Baliawas. The celebrations
were aimed at sharing the spirit
of the festival of colours & strengthening
community ties. Our students
participated enthusiastically in the
event, singing songs, putting up a Holi
dance & nukkad natak spreading the
awareness of natural colours over
chemical ones. This was followed by
distributing sweets among the students.
Celebrations came to a full
swing when students of the Government
school reciprocated by singing
songs & dancing together. The celebration
ended by distributing laddoos
to everyone present.

This week, the students enjoyed creating pamphlets and
did a commendable job.
They read a text on “School Days” and compared today’s
school life with olden days and also learnt related
vocabulary like confiscate, corporal punishment, do
up , give it in and many other words.

We discussed about the causes which lead to the rise of Buddhism
and Jainism.
They watched a part of the documentary‘ Life of Buddha’. The link is
uploaded on Veracross. The students need to watch the documentary
and make notes.

Noida Match
On the 16 th of December the Girls Basketball Team
headed towards Noida to play yet again another match
against the Pathways Noida girls team. All the players on
our team were 9th grade and below and we also had
one primary school member joining us for the first time.
The match begun and Noida had an early lead as they
zoomed baskets in the first quarter. We were lagging
behind but by the end of the second quarter we managed
to tie with the aggressive Noida players. The following
quarter was totally neck on neck and one team
would score and then the other leaving us looking at yet
again another tie at the end of the third quarter. However,
in the fourth quarter we changed our strategies
and started doing pressure defense, which resulted in
the Noida players not managing to score any baskets
and we got a lead of four points winning the match with
a lead of 18-14.

Easter Assembly by Grade 7Y
Grade 7y presented an assembly to mark Easter
today. There were two presentations done
by students. The first PPT was presented by
Adhiraj Chaddha in which he showed the Biblical
story of Easter. In his presentation he told
about the incidents that took place before
crucification of Jesus Christ. He also spoke
about resurrection of Christ which happened
on the third day which is celebrated as Easter.
The second presentation was done by Bhavika
Mittal and Sunaina Mehta. They gave some
factual information about Easter as in why do
the dates of Easter and Good Friday keep
changing, different type of celebrations that
take place in Britain like Easter egg hunt and
Easter vigil and about sunrise service on Easter
morning.
The assembly ended with a beautiful song of
Easter sung by Mr Ripple and Mr Sahil.

During last two weeks students have been working on two songs (smoke on the water – deep purple and country roads – john Denver) exposing
them to genres like old school rock and country music. Students were asked to research and find out facts about the artists mentioned above.
Side - Tarini by Lal side preparation for the year end production is going on (short music pieces are being taught according to the play ).Apart from this an
assembly was conducted on Wednesday the 13th on bullying where in the children performed a song based on the same.
