Grade 3 Re-Enacts Immigration Process
After a month-long study of the history of the U.S. Immigration process, students re-enacted "coming to America" as
immigrants. Students were each assigned a country to research. They learned about the immigrants from these countries and
what prompted them to come to America. They created a character and based a book on this character, as well as portrayed the
character on Immigration Day. After passing through the various tests (medical, mental acuity, etc.) they were sworn in as U.S.
citizens. Many thanks to Mrs Booth, Mrs. Silva, Ms. Courtney and all of the parents who helped to bring history to life!
