In November 2009, Kevin Macadaeg, MD,
a minimally invasive spine specialist with
Indiana Spine Group was diagnosed with Grade 3a Follicular
Lymphoma. This came as a complete surprise to him,
in that he was feeling great and had no symptoms.
Thankfully, it was caught early and only detected while
undergoing a CT scan for a kidney stone.

his first chemotherapy treatment.
December was a busy time for the Macadaeg family. Kevin began
aggressive treatment called R-CHOP chemotherapy. He has a series
of six treatments and will finish early this year. His goal during
treatment is to not miss any work, and enjoy time with his family.

A Family “Hair Affair”

also decided 2010 was a time for a new hairstyle.

Kevin is responding well to treatment.
As Kevin said in an earlier email,
“I feel blessed that I had my first
kidney stone, which allowed me to
be informed of the lymphoma.
I also believe that God meant
for me to have this challenge, which
will make me a better father,
husband, physician and have a
closer relationship with Him.
Indeed, I think it already has!”
