This project is in <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Arab</strong>ia. The PO unit will be built at the $20 billion chemical<br />

complex, being implemented by Sadara Chemical Company. The complex will have a<br />

capacity of about 8 million tonnes a year (t/y) and located at Jubail Industrial City 2 in the<br />

Eastern Province of the Kingdom. It will produce several speciality chemicals aimed at<br />

pushing <strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Arab</strong>ia's petrochemicals industry further downstream. US' Foster Wheeler has<br />

been awarded a EPC management (EPCM) contract for the PO unit. The package was awarded<br />

as a continuation of the front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract that Foster Wheeler<br />

has carried out for the unit.<br />

Bids have been submitted for the EPC contract on this scheme. Joint venture partners behind<br />

the scheme are currently evaluating bids and expected to make a decision by late<br />

October/November 2012.<br />

Client has released the tenders for the EPC contract on this scheme. Project is being tendered<br />

on a lump-sum turnkey basis and at least four international EPC contractors have been prequalified<br />

for the scheme. They include: South Koreas Daelim Industrial, Samsung<br />

Engineering; Germanys Linde and Italys Tecnimont. Winning bidder is expected to be<br />

announced in the fourth quarter of 2012 Construction work is expected to commence in 2013<br />

and production is expected to start in late 2014.<br />

contract. An award is expected by the end of May 2011. In the end of second<br />

quarter/beginning of third quarter of 2011, a decision is expected whether to select a<br />

This plant will be built within Tasnee Petrochemicals Complex at Jubail Industrial City in<br />

<strong>Saudi</strong> <strong>Arab</strong>ia. A Head of Agreement (HOA) has been signed between the client, <strong>Saudi</strong> Acrylic<br />

Acid Company and Aramco-Dow to own and operate this project. Output of this project will<br />

be divided equally between the three partners. The butanol product will be used as feedstock<br />

for the butyl acrylate project by <strong>Saudi</strong> Acrylic Acid Company.<br />
